You need to try that organic TOBS. Let good ole Joe send you that email. I'm sure you'll love TOBS, and I bet there's a coupon involved!
I got TOBS Sandalwood for my birthday It's excellent, not an overpowering scent, and leaves my skin very smooth. Does anyone know of a similar quality soap?
I have TOBS Coconut, Mr Taylors, Lemon Lime & Eton College. All smell great but, Eaton College is my fav. So much so, I bought the matching aftershave. Mr Taylors is my runner up, more of an old world, aristocratic scent. They all create gobs of lather sooo easily. When I switch off using another brand, I am always amazed at all the lather and ease when I switch back to a TOBS. I also have a bunch of their samples. St James smells good, Jermyn Street smells great. Jermyn Street is at the top of my list of creams to buy next, along with Proraso Blu & Red. At half the price of other big T's, I can't justify spending more. However, I did buy samples of Trumpers & DR Harris but, haven't gotten to them yet.
I have TOBS Coconut and have to say it smells an awful lot like actual coconut, while Trumper's is less sweet and with what seems to be other flavors going on and slightly on the medicinal side but, not in a bad way (I like it).
I just ordered the TOBS Grapefruit as a substitute for a soap I bought last week that turned out to be back ordered. It is my first cream, I chose Grapefruit due to remembering a previous post by @RaZorBurn123 about it and he hasnt steered me wrong on a purchase yet.
I received a tub of sandalwood from my secret Santa; first TOBS I've ever used. I think it's awesome! Smells terrific.
I just got a jar of Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood shaving cream. Two questions: 1) Does bowl lathering work best for a cream? 2) It has a very strong scent. Will it linger like a cologne? Lingering scents are sot of out of style these days.
1. I think creams work best when face lathering. Soak your brush, allow to drop dry. Add an almond size quantity of cream to the brush. Scrub your face for 45-60 seconds. 2. It will settle down quickly but you might catch a whiff of it later in the day. In an office not do much but when I am outside working in the heat I seem to smell it more.
I love the TOBS Sandalwood scent. Better than any of the other sandalwoods. I shave in the evening so lingering scent not a problem for me but I wouldn't mind if it followed me throughout the day.
The sandalwood was not kind to my skin, but I love TOBS. It face lathers like crazy. Happy shaves to you.
I prefer to bowl lather creams although they face lather well. As with most TOBS creams they do have powerful scents but don't linger on me at all.
I can't think of any soap or cream that's lingered all that long. There's only one way to find out though if it's too much for you. ToBS is a thirsty cream. Whether bowl or face lathering, use more water than with other products.
TOBS is my favorite cream, Sandalwood my favorite scent. I would suggest trying both face and bowl and seeing which one you prefer. I prefer bowl for creams and face for soaps.
I bowl lather with Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood cream. In fact I used it this morning. It does not linger long in my opinion.
