No a gentleman in South Africa has made these and deserves all credit for them. He posted a picture of his outfits in this thread if you scan back. Claudio @Clouds

Well I'm officially in the club lol. After 3 weeks of careful handling by the USPS I've got my hands on my first 400!
Pics are as purchased, followed by 0000 steel wool and finally Mother's all metal polish. All done lightly to a shine.

I wasn't quick enough for the $20 one. Really curious to find who snagged it. We've got pictures of that crack lol!

$50 is a good average price to get one. $20 was only 1 and had a crack. It's not what we paid..........

I just got a no # in the mail, and sadly nicked the collar with my makeshift vice grip/fan belt strapwrench :(
At least the gouge doesn't look like a #3 or 4 LOL!

Success! TWO 400's (no number and number 3) fully restored!
Thanks @Dave in KY for the guidance and ferrule donation.

Here's my step by step w/pics. Hope all enjoy and some find it helpful.

In my unsuccessful makeshift attempt I had the vise grips going in the same direction with the belt for the best leverage.
I think this could have worked, but the collar was so stuck that the point of the tool punctured the belt an nicked the collar before it loosened.
This go-round I'd taken a step back and positioned the grips parallel to the brush. Not nearly the same leverage but with some heat I muscled it off!

    Next I gathered some supplies:
    -Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish
-A new 24mm white badger knot from Amazon for $35
    -Interior exterior caulk
-Permatex Aluminum Anti-Seize Lubricant (I don't ever want to use a strap wrench on these again!)
-The ferrule @Dave in KY graciously donated

    White badger knot.jpg

To set the knot I went with 3 quarters stacked for a shim. Initially I put a caulk bead around the inside of the ferrule, threaded the ferrule on the handle and then set the knot by gently pushing down and twisting a bit back and forth.
When I gently unscrewed the ferrule from the handle I had to lightly pry the top quarter from the bottom of the knot. At that point I thought it'd been better if I would've had a piece of paper on top to let the quarters simply fall out...So, I traced the ferrule on a sheet of paper, cleaned off the top quarter, and re-stacked the quarters with the paper on top. I then screwed the handle back on, gave a little push and twist, and unscrewed the handle. That time the quarters dropped out.

    Finally, the finished goods!
