Now we shall go directly to the issue of singing about the brain. THE BRAIN by the Brain feat: Pinky on BRAINSTEM chorus
I don't know why I thought of a song I hadn't heard since I was a kid, but here it is. Ted Weems & His Orch - Oh! If I Only Had You http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxU3dkQ8_fc
"The Song Is You"-Jerome Kern....This features a chorus played by Bird.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGXFuxKTbfY
O.K. This has laid dormant long enough. Let's restart with the great bass voice of Jimmy Ricks and the Ravens! The Ravens - I'll Always Be In Love With You (Original)
Today I give you a five per of the same song. The song is J. Fred Coots' and Haven Gillespie's, "You Go To My Head." The first version is by Louis Armstrong with Oscar Peterson. The next version is by Lady Day, Miss Billie Holiday. The next version is by Julie London (wife of Bobby Troup). Those of you who are mature enough may remember the television show Emergency. That show featured both Ms. London and Mr. Troup. The next version is by the incomparable Lee Morgan. Last but certainly not least is a version by Diana Krall. For more on the various artist who performed this song. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/You_Go_to_My_Head Enjoy!
Yeah GD....Thats such a beautiful tune...I've always loved playing that one myself....I couldn't follow that with a better "YGTMH", so I'm going with a tune I love to play aswell, the very seldom heard: "You Leave Me Breathless" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZ19B0_eeLY

Rock Me - Sister Rosetta Tharpe with Albert Ammons on piano Gospel great Sister Rosetta Tharpe sings "Rock Me" at the 1938 "From Spirituals to Swing" concert at Carnegie Hall. Boogie Woogie giant Albert Ammons plays piano. Sister Rosetta influenced Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Ginger Baker and many others. Music historian John Tennison, MD, says this recording of "Rock Me", with Sister Rosetta's guitar, her gutsy vocals, with Albert Ammons boogie woogie piano, and the "resultant polyrythmic percussive drive leave little doubt Tharpe and Ammons were performing rock and roll in 1938." www.bowofo.org (The Boogie Woogie Foundation - BoWoFo) Rock and roll was around long before Bill Haley, Chuck Berry and Alan Freed as noted about Ms. Tharpe in Billboard 1942 with the release of this same song four years after the Carnegie Hall concert.
Official Response is Andy Kim - Rock Me Gently http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxYJqagN8jM&feature=related But I can't help but mention this also came to mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVikZ8Oe_XA&ob=av2e
Rockit - Herbie Hancock This song and video are almost 30 years old and it was a hit when I was a sophomore in college. Wow, I feel old all of a sudden, or maybe not all of a sudden!
