That Personna has gone from being a razor I would have considered tossing...to now being something I really want to try out due to the comments here It's rather purty innit?
So, picked up a second Apollo today for the case, blades and blade holders: I'm telling you these particular blades are hard to get hold of (with those step-notches on the ends). They look kinda nice as well with an almost Damascus look to them. But when I looked closer at the razor I was surprised to see that it had quite a few differences compared to the one I already own (see opening post).... If you look closely there are actually quite a few differences in the design of the head: The handles are different: So are the back of the baseplates: I'm off to track down some more information and old ads about these Apollos to see if I can at least figure out which one is the older one, etc. If anyone have any good Apollo-info I'd love to hear. Maybe some French assistance here @Cha-wing!! ?
I just had a brainwave on that one....Wee bit ambitious perhaps, but that set up just might with a little imagination manage to hold an injector blade in either side if you got a proprietary blade and cut it down to suit...... A Double Edge Injector Blade job..... Billy
Talking about Apollo, check out this NOS long-screw model : Not mine, but I had the chance to see it with my bare eyes !
