"$2" seems to be a theme. Last week I bid on a beautiful L2 Slim (birth year and quarter). I bid $40, thinking it would go for $60-80. (That wouldn't have bugged me; I just wanted to be part of the fun.) It went for $42. That bugged me.

Went for $0.50 more than my max bid with 3 seconds to go. I didn't have time to counter.

The winner could have bid $80.00 in the last few seconds. eBay will automatically bump the second bid by the minimum bid increment and award it to them. You more than likely would have still been outbid if you threw a $44.00 bid at the last second. Then you would have lost to $46.00. You got sniped

Remember guys, http://www.Gixen.com is free and easy to use. Put the eBay item number in the box, your maximum bid in the other box, and forget about it.

Actually used Gixen for an auction today - and it worked great. I even won :)
The bid was auto-placed about six seconds before the auction ended.

The winning bidder actually placed his bid 6 seconds before you, but his maximum bid was $.50 more than yours; so when you bid $12.49, his bid automatically bumped to $12.99. This is different than a snipe, where you have the highest bid until a few seconds before auction end. (I used to be an expert sniper) ;) I would be happy to give you any sniping pointers if you'd like. :)

His maximum bid was "at least" .50 higher. It could have been $50 higher, but bidding is incremental on eBay.

Thought I should add that bit of clarification.

Missed out on this lovely Hull pottery Old Spice mug. High bidding was instigated by @Darkbulb 's recent acquisition of one of these.

Ha, you give me way too much 'credit' I'm afraid. But man, that mug is in real nice condition!
Much nicer than those new, fancy Shulton ones :D

There was a half dozen of the "Ship Friendship" ones, but only one "Grand Turk." :(

There will be others...and besides, I don't even use shave mugs. I just like the look of it.

I use shave mugs every day but mostly just to soak the brush and keep the razor in some warm water while I shower.

Yeah, I have a couple of the Friendship mugs but have yet to find a Grand Turk in a condition I like for a reasonable price.

I think your use of the word 'showing' instead of 'showering' have some deeper meanings than what first meet the eye and I think you need to confront it open and honestly.
Sure, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar - but sometimes it's simply something you shouldn't be texting late at night.
