Can't speak about details publicly yet, but I got a phone call today that could mean a great opportunity.
I started today out pretty down since I hadn't spent a birthday by myself in .. well. ... forever (at least the daytime part of it). Today was a great day. Jeff left me a great card when he went to work and I found it when I woke up (I slept in til 0800!!). Then I did absolutely nothing except read and occasionally surf the web. He took me out to a fabulous dinner, bought me a customized brush and razor combo ... then we chit-chatted until he went to bed. Perfection. And Folks. Sometimes, that little bit of Perfection .... it's Awesome! Thank You Jeff (Stingraysrock) for a perfect day .. Thank You.
Happy Birthday Shawna! I am off to spend a couple of days with good friends, at a Dark Shadows Festival.
Once month our church prepares the dinner meal at the mission. My wife and I part of the cooking team. It is a great way to keep my cooking skills honed, which I been so awesomely blessed with. I made homemade Sloppy Joes , Texas Coleslaw, Chips. The wife of the other couple makes the cake, they do some of the pre-prep too. Others do the worship service, other people come in help serve. We served 160 plates yesterday, we do not limit how many times that they can get a plate. There were many families there, one little girl celebrated her birthday. It is an an awesome feeling to give back to those have nothing. We both live on SS Disability, every month is a stretch for us. There is no room for any major emergencies such car repairs. We were given a car back several years ago, it is approaching 200,000 miles. The car needs a major repair, a couple from church is helping us out with the expenses of the repair. We are so deeply blessed by awesome people in our lives.
Brad, you are truly awesome. My awesome is a smaller one, but I just got back from the Dark Shadows fest, and we had a great time! Sort of a 3-day slumber party.
Ugh, it feels like I have been applying for jobs for two months! (Ok, I have been ...) I applied for a Manager position in a call center here in Lakeland on Sunday and received a call on Monday to schedule an interview. I go tomorrow ... First bite since I declined the QA position in Savannah. Here's hoping it's worth the wait.
