No, I'm pretty sure that the rest of the world is wrong. (tho as a former science major, I will admit that metric is waaaay easier to deal with. But, that doesn't make it right. )
Just throwing this out there, but you don't hear Liberia and Myanmar, our other fellow metric-free nations, used together with the word right very often.
You're telling me...Distance is metric; Height is imperial (not metric); Weight is in pounds (not kgs...for me anyway ), and the list goes on. LOL!

Good morning ! Saturday 1st of the month & after a huge week at work with some disgustingly long hours, I have elected not to work today, so a day doing 'stuff' with my son is in order. In Australia the 1st Sunday of September is Fathers Day, so tomorrow will be spent with the family & large lamb roast on the BBQ for lunch. I noted a small package (not socks & jocks) & hand made card, so I am looking forward to a shave in the morning with some new goodies. Wishing all the fathers down under a Happy Fathers Day. I'm totally taking advantage of my time off. I will be heading back to Oklahoma for more than two weeks later in September. There is so much to do to pack in to that time! Seeing my Daddy's resting place, spending time with ALL of my family (because beside Jeff, we are alone in FL), Tulsa State Fair, Taco Bueno, (are there Goldie's still open?), Skiatook Lake ... soo so many things. I. Cannot. Wait. My niece's birthday (Sheena), I was 15 when I ran out of the delivery room to get her Dad in there so he could witness the "rest" of the birth ...
I'm finally off! It was another 13 hour day at work today. I had a project due, but limited ways home afterwards. So I had to leave with it incomplete. (there always NO way it could be done anyway...an impossible task) But..........IT'S THE LONG WEEKEND!
