I don't have a wide angle lens to show off all of my brushes. Many are in storage. I do need to rotate them in/out soon.
Here's my collection. From left to right: Custom turned by Jayaruh from the cap from a 16oz bottle of vintage English Leather, numbered JR 264. You can find the thread on this brush here. Another Jayaruh, numbered JR 133. Another Jayaruh, turned from a real Louisville Slugger, then the baseball embellishment by JimJo. Numbered JR 244. Made Rite #150 with nylon bristles. Bought as NOS and put into service. Rubberset 49-2. The barber pole motif was my first and only attempt at customizing a vintage brush that was otherwise in bad shape. It turned out ok. Rubberset 200-3. RazoRock 400. Would love to have a vintage Rubberset 400,but I don't want to pay the going rate (yet). Ever Ready C40. Ever Ready 300E. Ever Ready 807. Rubberset - No number Ever Ready 150. Surrey ivory.
I’ll show some. Sorry they are all just in their racks. Some customs: Some horses: Some woodcraft: Some Simpson: Some Stirling:
Eleven in the back row... With the other 11 added in front... When I started this hobby, I wondered why in the world anyone would have more than one brush. Now I’ve determined that I can’t have more than the 22 that fit in an orderly fashion like this in my cabinet. Unfortunately, I also have another custom handle my dad made that needs a knot, as well as a restored rubberset in another cabinet, so two of these will need to ultimately be jettisoned.
Thank you very much. I have been collecting them for a few years now. Brushes are really my only AD. I like all of them. Here is a family reunion pic. Most of them showed up. There are a few that couldn’t make it.
Bought and destroyed another plain brown Vie Long instead. Decided that destroying an unobtanium brush would be bad form. (Besides, it gave me an excuse to buy another brush).
