This is Zierikzee, a small medieval city about 8 km (5 mi) from my village. The Zuidhavenpoort (South Harbour gate) to the left was built in the 15th century and boasts the oldest Dutch carillon (1554, if I'm correct). Also it has been the club house of the local yachting club). The Noordhavenpoort (North Harbout gate) on the right dates from the 14th century. The building in between has been used as the residential building of the city's mayors until 2009. I lived at almost exactly the spot where the picture was taken. Just a little to the right (15 m / 45 ft) and a bit forward. We lived on a barge at the time (hence the 'forward'). Anyway, we had this sight from our home for about 5 years. In between gazing at the scenery we rebuilt the barge to a sailing vessel again and built our home in the hold. And here's the Bunny and me. Early morning, as you can guess.
Waiting for an answer from the Mods.... The tech settings for the entire forum only allow for 10 photos per post. I had not known of the restriction at the time that I set up the thread. I had originally intended a single post which I would add photos to as they were sent to me. The 10 photo max has throw a wrench in the works. At this point I'd invite Bunny shavers to just post here at will until/if I get the technical issue addressed. Thanks all!
Visiting the Czardom... Arrival via Sled Post... Stop staring guys and bring me my coffee! Bye, bye Bunny. We will miss you!
Bunny's stay in my hometown and here on the background you see a one of the highlights of the town, St. Johns cathedral and here on print of a painting from Jheronimus Bosch. There is a wonderful exposition in our city because it's been 500 years since Jheronimus Bosch died. and another
Alas! AFAIK the 10 pic maximum is part of the system and cannot be altered. But all Bunny Shavers can indeed add their pics to the thread! Great pics! Luckily the razor is named "Bunny" in stead of "Herring" or the Penguinators would never have let it go! I still need to visit the expo! Especially since the St. Johns Cathedral can be visited from the outside to see the statues inspired by Jheronimus Bosch! Nice pics BTW!
Sorry, to say, but it's all sold out... Maybe there are some tickets for the special night opening during the last weekend. It's worth it!
