Just a thread devoted to the inexpensive Chinese razor blades. So far, they have been a pleasant surprise. Feel free to post your experiences with them, or any other Chinese blade.
Matgicol Super Platinum Swedish Quality I havent tried these yet. I did not know Sweden produced DE blades.
FlyDear Super Platinum I have not tried these yet. These and the Sunekos are the most popular, online.
Flying Eagle Stainless Steel I have not tried these yet. Since they aren't listed as Platinum coated, I have a feeling I might not like them. But who knows. Update: Run fast, Run far from these blades. horrible horrible blades.
Suneko Platinum Amorphous Diamond Stainless Steel This just rolls off the tongue. These need little introduction. Excellent blade. I currently have 35 shaves off of one blade, and it is still going strong.
I have and like the Suneko blades. Smooth/comfortable/effective for me, what's not to like about that? Have tried the Flying Eagle blades and, for me, broken glass would be better. Don't know anything about the others yet
i got a 100 pack of these chinese gillette wilkinson sword blades a few years back, they lasted 10 shaves each and were inexpensive.i didn't go past 10 but many have with good results.
I liked the Suneko blades as well.. I need GSB up to Feather sharpness to enjoy a razor blade. Do any of these others hit that stratosphere???
If someone offers those to you, don't walk away from them...RUN! Totally unrelated, if you'd like a couple, PM me.
RzR "Iguetta" Baolai Razor Co.LTD Platinum Edge Stainless Steel $9.37 total, w/shipping Like the others, I have not tried these yet. They seem to sell pretty good, on AliExpress. So far, I have enjoyed other Platinum coated blades. I will let you know how these feel, when I get around to them.
Rhinoceros Swiss Stainless Steel $8.19 total,w/shipping Unsure how these will feel, since they are not coated.
Flying Eagle Stainless Steel China First and Last shave. First off, I have my doubts if this is actually stainless steel. They were marketed as Stainless Steel. All Carbon Blades have this look to them, with the dark coating on the blade, except the edge. This blade had an uneven looking edge, that could possibly have oxidation on it. Press on I must. I got two strokes into the WTG part of the shave, and it felt the blade was pulling each hair out, by the root. Not worth the rest of the shave, so I switched. Warning: Do not buy, do not accept as a gift. Run from these, as fast as you can, no matter what the price.
Exactly!! See my post #15 in this thread. However, I have found that it is (barely) possible to get an adequate, socially acceptable shave from one using pre-shave oil and a G. E. Jones ShakeSharp razor. Not quite a DFS, but you won't look like a bum. And my wrist is tired from all the shaking. Still, better to avoid them in the first place. Now all we need to do is find some suckers, excuse me, shaving enthusiasts to unload them to.
