This Franknerazor is a nice shaver. It has the cap and handle of the Fat Handle Tech but the bottom plate of an English NEW LC. Very nice shave today.

I tried a cold water shave many years ago when I was still using disposable razors, and it was an unpleasant experience. Therefore, I have always overlooked this thread but today, I finally decided to give it another go. I started with sort of lukewarm water and then worked my way to the coldest possible water over the course of the shave, and I had excellent results. Not the closest shave but that might also have been because it wasn't a fresh blade. Otherwise I didn't have a single nick or weeper.

I normally shave before showering because otherwise I have to wait for my bathroom mirrors to defog. I actually didn't enjoy the feeling of warm shower water on my face after the cold water shave, but that might have been exacerbated by the aftershave. I think next time, I will apply the aftershave after my shower even if it doesn't feel right. If I can get consistently good results with cold water, I might be less hung up on buying a fancy scuttle.

 

Welcome to FCWS. Since I added CWS to my routine about two years ago, I have not gone back. If this works better for you great. You may discover it is not for you and that is fine too. I have just found for me I get a great shave with little to no irritation, and it is invigorating.

 

Excellent! Don't give up. It might have been a dull blade and you might have shaved with some apprehension because of your last experience. Next try a fresh blade and go to work like a BOSS!

Wonderful shave with the Schick N1 this morning loaded with a twin blade. I had forgotten how much fun this Omega 48 brush is. It produces mounds of lather effortlessly and oh yes I do face lather with it. It made my shave twice as fast! Three passes for a refreshing dolphin smooth finish. Have a pleasant day friends.

Well guys and ladies, I mentioned in a previous post here that I was a seasonal cold water shaver. With the change of weather I'm back to lukewarm, but not hot water shaves. I'll be back to cold in the spring!

 

How do you like the Lucky Tiger after shave? I recently purchased some Lucky Tiger hair tonic. Very similar to Vitalis, but costs a little less.

 

I like the scent. I added some menthol crystals to boost up the menthol. But, I usually do that to some things.
