The Gillette blade rack my wife bought me for my birthday. Not sure what I am going to do with it yet display wise.
My order from the Italian Barber arrived today. Amazed at how well they package products for shipping. Gonna be a tough decision what to use first.
I shouldn't call this a "haul," since I've had all this stuff for a year. These are two of six original ads for the Gillette New Improved from National Geographic, '23-'25. I finally got around to framing them. (Sorry about the crappy picture.) On a related note: My birthday is tomorrow, and I don't have a Gillette New Improved to go along with these beautiful ads. So, if you have one in say, NOS/NIB/Mint condition, PM me....
This purchase was done before discovering the spanish connection. Had i known i would have bought everything from Spain which would have lowered my per item shipping cost even further.
Swung by Publix this evening and found VDH Deluxe pucks on clearance for $1. Sign said "while supplies last"...so I took them up on that and cleared the shelf. Ended up with 9 pucks - super excited! I've only been using shave soap for about a month and I'm still trying other soaps/creams but I keep going back to my VDH Deluxe for daily shaing. Now, what to do with all that soap...?
Last item for the month is a Star Shaving brush. Unfortunately a soak in warm water cause a crack in the rubber to the left of the name. I should have just put it on a shelf to display instead of seeing if it was in useable condition.
I did pick up one thing. Now when I grew up in England this was viewed as very uncool. So I was a bit hesitant to try it. But it was being sold at a ridiculously cheap price so i thought it was worth a try. I am glad I did cos I really like it.
I am interested in this and other soaps but I am very scent conscious so I need a company that can provide a scent scratch and sniff board or has a store.
Clint, wow! I haven't lathered it yet so I'm going strictly from opening the lid. Guinness beer and chocolate cookie, totally eatable!
