The Haul: April 2018

Looks to be in great shape Jim! Have you shaved with one of these ? I found mine to be way more aggressive then a J type Hydro-Magic, fantastic shaver!

 

I haven't yet, but this is to replace a white one my GF already has, she likes pink better. I plan on doing a little customizing on the white handle razor when I get a cap to install on the end of the handle when I shorten it from @twhite. Kind of like a version of the Travel Lady Eversharp, but for my use if I need it when I go someplace.

 

I thought I was over ads. Come on, I've got more razors than face. But I had a few minutes to burn today, so I found myself in a antique store asking about vintage shave stuff. Y'all know, just to look.
So the guy says a lady had just sold them a load of stuff and there was a straight razor in it. (Hasn't been in the store a half hour, so he says). I think I'll just take a look.
He hands me a razor box in very crisp new shape. The name I've not heard of. But when I opened it, a name I had heard of, Peter J Micheals. So as I'm admiring the blade, I come to think that it's not been used. The last thing I need is another straight razor, but nos Peter J Micheals. I couldn't turn it down. So guys, please pass the cookies, my name is David, I'm a razorholic.

That is a super cool looking bottle! I would put pinaud bay rum in that bottle. The blades are cool as well!

 

That handle is cool! Is that the kings man razor from art of shaving?

Thanks. It does look great, but I am not sure about the Kingsman version. My wife packaged everything in the travel case and there were no boxes. I did not ask her where she bought it, but the AOS is the only relatively close shaving store without driving far to Maggard's. It looks identical to the pictures of the 3D laser handle I saw on Amazon, which is another convenient place to shop. Honestly, I am just happy with the thought, love, and care behind it. I'm just a lucky guy.

Received Pre de Province 63 today to match my shower bar soap. I love the scent.

 

I just picked up that soap a little while ago. You're right, the scent is awesome, almost like cologne.

This isn't about Stirling, I just wanted to tell you that it appears you've made more avatars than brushes. Current avatar is kinda like a combo of Terry Bradshaw/Mike Love.(Love of the Beach Boys, that is). But as this is The Shave Den, I had the Stoylin Lime A.S. as a sampler, but at the wrong time. I bet the soap will be nice at this time.

 

@Paul Turner , I ought to post all my avatars. I'll bet you I have made more brushes. But, I have had a bunch of avatars on TSD.

Edit: Here you go. Only 137 avatars. I have made 278 brushes.

 

That's quite impressive! I guess the brush count will have a safe lead for the duration of TSD.
