The Haul: April 2023

Thursday’s mail call is a full bottle of vintage Jade East Golden Lime aftershave.

 

Yesterday's charity store $10 spend, Hidden in the back of a cabinet.

I had to take the hair clippers too (why do they always put those in the same lot? LOL)
$2 Nice wooden bowl, I think this is a bowl for a ball of string, no matter I can place some soap in there!
$2 Made in Japan bowl I will try using for lathering until I find something better.
Slightly damaged case with what I think is a 1939 No 46.



The doors need a bit of help opening up but close up nice and tight.


It cleaned up fine, but still no luck with the silo doors.

No matter I will give it a spin some time.

cool score.the silo doors are unique on the brit populars.you have to spin the handle for them to open like later tto razors.

Hard to tell, but I recognize it from many years ago. It's familiar, but just can't place it. Has a kind of powdery smell.

Yes it is, I just opened it. It took a bit of muscle to remove the cap.

 

Thanks chaps, I will give it a spin later on the month. Spinning the handle does help but they still don't both open on their own, no matter it's 20 years older than I am, amazed it's still around.

Just keep in mind those Injector II twin blades do not work with certain injectors. Most modern injectors are not designed for them and Schick injectors only Type L and later models made 72 and up are specifically designed for them.

 

In worst case you'll need to disassemble it but usually a good soaking in hot soapy water will free it up after opening and closing the doors. Those popular sets especially one like that with the white plastic case and gold plating regardless of condition there is almost always a collector on the back end you can sell it to easily and make some money on. Your neck of the woods is also a good hunting gounds for British Super Speeds and the Rocket versions of them especially the Red Tip variants.

@BBS thanks for the heads up. I just ordered some different injector blades from Connaughts to save on the cost of postage, knowing I will likely hunt down some more injectors. Great advice though!

@BBS Already done that, but no luck. Either way this is still better-than-user grade and will be happy to add this my rotation.
