The Haul - August 2016

I got these for a great price. Into the restoration queue.

 

That center Brush looks like it belongs in @Darkbulb's den lol.

 

Tried the stuff again today and the only word that comes to mind is sweet, not minty or floral really...just sweet. Mouthwash has more character. Maybe some notes have died but I don't think so.

But the brushless cream is awesome slick.

 

I got two vintage-ish tubes of Campbell shave cream concentrate. Some component in each tube, possibly lanolin, has long since turned to a hard, crumbly chalk but the rest is fluid and still works. Just two or three drops on the brush whips up right nice. No scent to speak of but nice and whippy. It likes a good amount of water, though, as it leans toward a dryish foam at first (no doubt because I'm not using it as intended; no LatherKing machine).

You know, for a cost-effective shaving cream, for the money this stuff is an amazing deal. It's still available at $4 for an 8 oz bottle in some places.

 

I'm very happy with it. It was a good call. Navy blue handle, always wanted one.

 

Some kind of weird white oxidation?

 

Weird white something... It had an original blade in it, so I am assuming it hadn't been used since the 50s.
