I'll post pictures later, but this month I have acquired a complete set of Arkie Stones from Dan's. All measuring 6" x 3" x .5" a Washita, a Soft(Medium), a Hard, and a Surgical Black. I also purchased 5 Gold Dollar 66 for $3.00 ea to practice honing on. I think I may have a little fun with the Gold Dollars and de-scale them, customize the blades and rescale depending on the results I get from putting them to the stones. I also picked up an India Fine 8" x 3" x 1" for cutting power. Let the fun begin. I've been looking for a hobby for quite some time, and I think I may have found one. Next I wanna get some scale material and look at making some custom scales. The WASHITA was the true haul though. These are getting pretty rare to come by and while on the phone with Dan's the guy mentioned having a very limited supply so I snagged one. All told I grabbed all 5 stones for a very reasonable $160 shipped with a free can of Dan's hone oil.
I got these in Hawaii. 1. Vintage Yardley cologne 2. Old barber bottle 3. Wade and butcher blades 4. Penhaligons soap and bowl
I'm the wrong person to ask that. The only way I can think of it is ... it's like old smell. Like a tabac .. old person or old woman like. The scent is heavy.
I can see them this time. Milord/Milady where do they fall compared to a late 40s Aristocrat or a SS Flare? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
