This is a very YMMV topic. I've tried many pre-shave oils and custom mixtures and still have a number lying around to play with but, my personal experience has been that they do not improve my shave. Now, for many people it does. You have to try it yourself. Wetting my face with hot water and lathering and then rinsing the lather off and re-applying another lather to shave with has improved things quite a bit instead. I know, it seems like I'm wasting lather. Not really. If you use any form of pre shave product then using a little more lather is actually cost effective. I don't use up all my lather as it is so why not put it to good use.
Lets just cut to the chase..... Pre-Shave oils suck. Thats it. Dont waste your time and money. 'nuff said
Cracky strikes again! A beautiful mentholated haul arrived today for me: 3x Menthol Palmolive s/c tubes (Italian version) 3x Menthol Williams s/c tubes 3x Noxzema lather s/c tubes 1x Permafrost shaving stick a sample of Florida Water shaving soap Heaven, I'm in heaven!
The following is the reason why I had to try with all the strength I could muster to ignore the custom Shavemac brush. Neale, you were killing me.
Great Hauls Guys!! That is a beautiful brush Bob!! Congrats, I did feel a bit slighted when my Emperor 2 arrived with 3 banded super, after I just got a 2 banded Chubby in Super....... 2 weeks prior...... It is still very nice just kills me that Simpson cannot be consistent with their materials..... That one is sure a looker though, and I understand why you passed on the Shavemac
Emily says she never knows what she's getting from Simpson! Even if she specifically asks for one or the other! Amazing!! I had no real reason for wanting a 2-band except I thought they looked cool. She said the only ones she had were the PL8 in Super and the Tulip. End result is...mine looks better than Steve's!
Recent Haul I took a much needed day off to recharge and do some hunting. Also bought some Van Der Hagen Glycerin Soap at Wallyworld.
