I've seen several guys post about buying bowls/cups with lids to store their soap. Why is that? Don't they come in containers? Are you storing them unused, until you begin to use them? Or are you alternating them, and storing them when not in use? If so, do you let them dry out before storing them? Thanks for helping me out.

That's why. Most of my soaps came without containers. Then there's the odd stick that needs grating, which then needs a container afterwards.

That picture depicts Stirling soaps. They do have optional Tin containers around $1.5-2 but I guess Bobcat just prefers his glass containers. I have a puck of Stirling and I mashed it in an uncovered large cappuccino mug.

Some soaps come in containers, some don't. If I have a soap that does not have a container, I put it in one of the glass bowls, plastic Glad/Ziplock bowls, Specialty Bottles plastic jars, or an Old Spice mug.

It's usually much cheaper to buy a refill puck than it is to buy a soap/container combo.
For example, check out the price difference in a D.R. Harris refill vs. the same soap with the bowl ---> *click*

That's awesome. I use a 1974 black beauty and I was born in 1982. I would love to run into that year and have a birth razor.
