Here's my latest score. Since I'm also waiting on the Yuma pass-around, this is going to be a real study in contrasts....

Also just received "The Barber" box from Bespoke Post, which includes a black Standard Razor, a Gentleman Jon alum block, a hand towel, a pack of Derby and a pack of Silver Blue, and a 2 ounce tub of Elizabeth Street shaving cream from New York Shaving!

To be honest, I sniped this one. Call me what you like, but I was determined. It almost got to my upper limit, though. Really, really close. In fact, at first eBay's system told me I had missed out. Then a few seconds later I got the confirmation.

 

I am not quite sure why I was bidding - I already have, and love, a Barbasol floating head...
It was just at such a great price I wanted to see if I could get it on the cheap.
You did well I think - it's an awesome razor (one of my top three).

 

Yeah, I thought I could steal it, but no such luck. I put in a bid for $45 but knew it would jump in those last few seconds.

The seller and I went back and forth for some time, with him posting more pics by request so I could confirm (from the round area where the neck meets the base plate, since I couldn't see the bevel depth where the blade would meet the teeth in his somewhat blurry photos) that it was a floating head. It took me a while to be certain. Only one post I could find shows the difference in the neck area (square for non, round for floating).

We'll have to see how she cleans up.
