There is a variation in blues produced, one was a light and one was a medium blue and they are distinct. I am not sure if it was a planned change or just a supplier change but there is a noticeable difference. Also. look closely at your 1963 as I believe that was the one of, or the only year that the doors were made of aluminum and not nickel colored brass. Oh, and check out this Wiki at another site. They show 5 or 6 distinct color variations.
The link you provided is where I found out about the color variations and surmised that I've probably got one light blue and two lavenders or three light blues. I'm quite sure I don't have one of the "neon" blues unless there's been some serious fading. I also noticed that the '71 has no arms and the fatter diamond. And the stars are the same size on all of them. I've also got a '68 Champagne and it's similar to the two older blues. It's just the '71 that's different. Interesting note about the aluminum doors. I can't tell any difference but I'm not exactly a metallurgist. Thanks for the great info.
@JR Reyes was very generous and willing to make a trade for this beautiful Oscar11- Rootbeer/Black 28mm Silvertip. Thank you JR! You are a true friend. Also included were two soap samples.
here's my wife's lady Gillette(i1) I was not aware of more than one color of blue, just thought some were faded. doors feel like brass, not aluminum
Mail Call...thanks again Kerry. You are super generous my friend. I'm More than happy with all of the new goodies.
LOL...as soon as this box arrived..I rushed to shave. I really like the handle and the rake head. I will try it with my DOC head next time.
Spent more than I should have but this was unique to me. There is no name or brand markings on the case or razor at all. It's fairly light weight. The head looks like it might be a pot metal. This is my first Slant, and hope it cleans up good without ruining the finish, whatever it is.
my grand didn't like other handles. in fact it didn't perform as well with the stock handle any more than snug. I think that's why many didn't like the Grand Shave King.
My Schick type D arrived today. The sellers pictures and description pointed towards near mint. Seeing it in person confirmed it. I hope it shaves like it looks....
My Ever Ready 500 PB Pure Badger brush arrived today and all I can say is that I'm speechless as to its condition. It may have never been used!. I love bargins and I won it last week on eBay for $1.74 plus $3.50 shipping. The knot although somewhat small (18mm knot / 44mm loft), is very full and very soft like a best badger. I'm looking forward to using this brush as it's an excellent addition to my rotation as I expect it will be great for face lathering.
This was so nice as well as so unexpected - some awesome Russian creams: 1x Tet-a-tet SC tube 1x Nord-ost SC sample 1x Znakahar'y SC sample (Russian for witch doctor) I'll be sending out a package very soon to the wonderful gentleman who I received these treasures from!
