The daughter may mock me for taking so long to shave but she still loves me. She gave me this for my Birthday (Check out my SOTD for today for a mini review)
I cannot in good conscience let Darkbulb succumb to such a hideous razor, therefore I will hold it for both of you as a personal sacrifice to the wet shaving community.
Nice surprise in the mail today :mail:. Wasn't supposed to be here till after Christmas. I heard rattling in the box and thought it might be broken..... Anyway a nice puck of Tabac! I'm going to have to find out "how many shaves in a puck of Tabac?" Probably about 5 Thousand! All the way from the Queens England!
Also arrived yesterday.... A New Forest Tubby 2 brush... Man, this thing was bigger than I thought but it's surprisingly comfortable to hold! This will be the next brush I'm using for sure Some very rough stats: Loft: 56mm Base diameter of handle: 46mm Handle height: 45mm. Knot is Two-Band Super Badger, 26mm Seller was also kind enough to surprise me by throwing in a new tube of Muhle Shaving cream that I've never tried before The Forest family is growing......
Arrived today - a big package of stuff that I ordered a few weeks ago. I rather recently tried out Floid Blue for the first time and found that it really worked for me - both scent and for my skin. Due to a few discontinuation rumors (I still have no idea if they are true or not...) and coupled with finding the aftershave for what I think was a really good price ($28 shipped per bottle to the US (probably less if you're somewhere in Europe)) I ended up ordering four [more] bottles so I could use it for a long time and not think twice about availability The vendor is TVBShaving by the way and seems like a very credible and trustworthy guy to deal with. In addition to the four bottles of Floid Blue I also picked up a bottle of Acqua di Eucalipto by Extro' for $6 that will be fun to experience. I assume @crackstar have already had a go at it? So how much Floid Blue is enough? This much is enough for me. At 400ml per bottle...that's about 2.2 litres (I've used some!)
Weren't you at one time just into razors? You really have expanded your inventory. Btw. Lovely Forest family.
Ah yes, those were the days.... Well, I stay away from the real high-end stuff in brushes like your Simpsons and whatnot. At least I use that to make me feel a bit better. Love the NF brushes - such a great quality product and very affordable when/if you can find them.
Received my first Super Adjustable today. (Special thanks to Tom for brokering deal) Seller was a little sneaky, stated Y1 1978 year but showed a pre 77. Item arrived in good condition I gave it a soak and disinfectant before trying it out. I will look for a N3 my birth year in a Super Adjustable since I own no birth year razors.
Received a razor lot I picked up for $60. After a closer inspection I'm not completely convinced it was such a great investment - but can't win 'em all Content Valet w/ case, bladebox and leather strop. These might just be very dirty, Leather has no cracks and razor seems mechanically sound. Schick E-type injector in case Schick Type repeating razor. Hopefully it will clean up a bit "Spike" straight razor. Blade edge pretty bad. Binable. Gillette Tech. Ok condition just dirty. Some no-name travel razor where it seems like the second part of the handle is stuck inside the other handle part.
I'm pretty sure I looked at that lot a couple of times. I'm glad you got it, it's better off with someone with your experience. Enjoy
