Came in today, a Gem case and an Ever-Ready razor. My Gem razor is a little tight with the @Jayaruh installed, but using the stock handle on the head keeps both handles together in the same case. At least I won't misplace either one this way. Also, for anyone who can help. The only markings on the outside, besides "Ever-Ready", is "Lift Here" on both sides of the cap and "Patent Pending" on the bottom of the head. Can anyone let me know what model it is.
The Schick Golden 500 came in today. Woo-hoo. I have already taken pictures for Wednesday through Friday's shaves. They will feature the 500. For Williams Wednesday:
Merry Christmas to me. Just in from Brad Sears is this Archduke II 26mm, yes 26mm, with his new Select Badger knot. Brad says a regular customer requested a 26mm Archduke because he prefers that size to the 28mm that is normal for the handle. Unfortunately, there was a little splinter of wood in the resin that became visible once the handle was turned, so Brad fit it with a slightly lopsided knot and offered it for sale at a nice discount. It is shown with my other Brad brush, an M&F collaboration 2XL.
I don't know about others, but mine is hard to open. You gotta get a good grip because the spring is so strong. Also, you gotta be very careful about loading a blade. The first time I shaved with mine was bad news. I have since learned to ride the cap with these old razors. Light touch, ride the cap, excellent shaves...
My raffle prize arrived today. Thank you @Herm2502 and @Queen of Blades ! It will go into the rotation tomorrow morning. Yes!
Looks like some very nice Christmas haul were had. Here's my Christmas shaving haul from the family: Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
