From the Italian Barber yesterday Mitchell's Wool Fat in ceramic tub Proraso Sandalwood Vie-Long 12603 horse hair brush Shavex alum block Used the Proraso and the Vie-Long this morning. I loved the Proraso and really liked the horse hair knot, but I find the handle a little awkward to hold, had to grip the brush with my fingertips at the base of the knot with the bottom of the brush resting on my palm to get a comfortable grip. The knot felt great as I face lathered with the Proraso though.
Nice, I might have to break down and buy some horse clippings attached to a handle to rub on my face as well. Just can't shake this case of BAD. Every time I see a great looking brush I can't help but want it. Edit: 48 minutes later I have ordered a badger/horse mix vie-long. Curse you Erik Redd!! Just kidding, can't wait to try it out. It will put me at 3 awesome brushes to rotate through. On the plus side my breathing is less labored and my heart rate has gone down. Unquenched AD will take a year or two of your life... so I did it for my health.
Picked this up today at the New York Shaving Company. $40.00 + tax Makes great lather, and didn't smell like a wild animal.
Today I bought some Axe Chilled Face Wash at Walgreen's. I think it smells pretty good and I'll use it tonight to give you the official word.
Sorry about that. It's a pure badger brush, but it has much more backbone than VDH pure badger brush that came with the luxury shaving kit. Small knot which is what I was after. This one didnt lose a single hair, unlike the VDH that sheds like a german shepard in june! I saw their website last night and realized I had an appointment 3 blocks away today. Nice place, very good high quality products. I'll be going back.
