Very nice, every time I find a vintage razor in good shape for a decent price they NEVER deliver to Croatia :(

Since Hanzo said he sold off 11 of his razors after purchasing and using a Cobra. Then that was a good enough recommendation for me. My Cobra just arrived. Took these pictures and now am off to take my first shave with a Cobra. Cobra 001.JPG Cobra 002.JPG

Real Nice looking but I couldn't justify the price no matter good it shaves since it takes proprietary blades

King: All my life I lived never being able to justify the price for anything I wanted. However, there was never a question of justifing a price for my wife and kids. Now the kids are all grown, educated, working and have children of their own. So I started saying nothing was too good for my grandchildren. For me, however, it was not necessary to have good things. Functional posessions were good enough. One day I was flying home from someplace and watching the pre-flight video. You know the part where the oxygen mask comes down and the announcer tells you to put yours on first then put one on the child's mask. Then it finally hit me. It's my time now. Every morning now I can look forward to this combination for a shave. My kids can save for their kids college. combo 001.JPG

I cant agree more with what you said above like I said my problem with it is what if feather stops making blades for it because demand isn't great enough but then again they still make SE blades so they may be made for a long time I don't really know actually the more I think of it the less of a problem it seems as I believe the blades are used in the feather shavette style razor also but does it really shave that good

Just finished the first shave and am very impressed. I was wary of cutting a needed body part off. So shaved slowly and carefully. Only shaved ATG on my neck. Shaved WTG neck and face and XTG face and chin and lips. No nicks cut or weepers. Like a sharp kitchen knife the blade shaved with no jumps and skips. The worse cuts I have ever sustained were from a relatively dull kitchen knife. I think my next shave will go a bit faster. Didn't quite like the finger rests on the handle. Never shaved with a razor that had a grip like this but I will probably get used to it in time. Think I will retire my Merkur Slant

Good to hear maybe I should try one but then again if I liked it it would through my whole blade stash out of whack let us know how it improves in the coming weeks

Barry, the average man could live on just 15 to 20% of his salary without significantly sacrificing his lifestyle. Everything else he produces in his life goes to other people (wife, kids, grandkids, etc.). By the sounds of it, you have lived modestly to provide for your loved ones. You, are an honorable and generous man. You should never feel that you are short changing your loved ones if you get something nice for yourself. It is weird, but in today's day and age, we men almost feel guilty if we get ourselves a small luxury or something fun. When a man between 40 and 55 gets a sports car for example, everybody (including the man himself) seems to laugh it off with jokes about having a mid-life crisis. I find this very odd, and it tends to take away from the enjoyment of something because of guilt.

I sincerely hope that you enjoy the razor. And if no one else will say it, I will... you deserve it!! Personally, I think you should seriously consider a nice little sports car to go with it! :) Or how about a cool motorcycle. Maybe a hog!

    Best Regards, Lyndon

My dad is the exact same way, and I can feel that rubbing off on me. I now understand why he and my mom never bought real flashy cars. He told me that a car is just a tool to get you around, and that even a flashy, expensive car will still end up as a pile of junk at the end of its life. He instilled that value in me and I am glad that he did because now I can enjoy what little money I have. I want nice stuff, but I know that it will come if I work hard for it.

But also, after working hard for their whole life, I think a person definitely deserves to buy something for him/herself that will be enjoyed and appreciated.

Barry, my man, after a lifetime of hard work and saving for your loved ones, I 'd say you are qualified for someting like that razor. Enjoy it!

I just got in my 1938-41 Gillette Heavy Tech today. This thing is in great condition considering its age. I also used our polishing wheel at the store to buff out most of the small scratches. There are two little spots on the edge of the head where the metal has began to show through the plate, but other then that she is a beauty. I also got in a cheap shavette razor I wanted to use to on my sideburns and to taper & block the back of necks when cutting hair.
    Enjoy!!

Thanks, our polishing wheel makes it easy. I can't wait to shave tomorrow with it. Honestly, I want to shave tonight, but I think twice in one day is a little much. My shavette is going to be fun as well, but I'm a little nervous about shaving with it. I may test it on the inside of my arm or somewhere not noticible if I own myself.

Here is a photo of the two of them together!

It has been a good week for brush deliveries. :D These two are interesting. The black one is a new synthetic brush from Frank Shaving which features a large 28mm knot! I will be trying out this bad boy tomorrow. The other travel brush has silvertip hairs that are very soft. Although the knot is a bit small, I think the brush will work quite well. I will try it out on my next long haul flight to Milan.

    Cheers, Lyndon

The Cobra is made by the vendor Classic Shaving and was developed to takeFeather blades, the Pro and Pro Guard. You can also useJapanese made Kai blades, available in the US for the Cobra. Don't see an issue with blade supply or availability. I seem to get about 7 shaves from each blade, not bad . Price wise , it performs well, I get very close, fast, efficient shaves so its worth it . YMMV
