One more. Cerakote on a slim, Titanium blue. Great finish, can't wait to try it. I took it apart to smooth it up. Any way to fix this?
Brush acquisitions for January...And the rest of my life! This has to be the densest brush I have ever seen! Can't wait to give it a try...
CHUBBY TWO BAND! *drools* I want a CH1 and CH2 in those so bad but have to wait for a while to save for them. Can't be for the rest of your life though, remember Simpson is releasing their Chubby 2 Synthetic soon!
I haven't been the biggest fan of synthetic knots to be honest...However, GDC's writeup did pique my interest!
Done by a guy in Missouri. Forbush weapons refinishing. Done a good job. I had a flashlight done too. I believe if I had it to do over again I would have done a 3 piece but, it worked out OK anyway.
Super hardware haul. I don't know anything about that handle but I'd love to see an "after cleaning" photo of that group. That's beautiful! Nice re-purposing.
Two stops at the same antique store this week. I've driven past the place multiple times never realizing it was there. Big place and didn't have a lot of time on the 1st visit so I went back yesterday and picked up a few more things that I'll post in a day or two. Anyways... here's the first haul. 1912 Ever Ready SE - 1930's Gillette TTO OC - 1912 GEM Junior - 1940's Gillette Tech Everything cleaned up pretty good and I was pretty pleased since I only spent $20 for all four. Hadn't come across a TTO of this vintage before but I found one that looked just like it on Mr Razor identified as a 1937 Sheraton and I also hadn't seen a Ball Tech with grooves in the handle and also found one on Mr Razor identified as a 1946 Contract Tech. http://mr-razor.com/Rasierer/One-Piece open comb/1937 Sheraton.JPG http://mr-razor.com/Rasierer/Tech/1946 (R1 on blade) Contract Tech.JPG
Visit number two from the antique store I stumbled across last week. Leaning against the mug - A 1966 (L1) Gillette Flare Tip Super Speed - already have one (1964) but this was in great shape so I couldn't pass it up An Old Spice Mug (which I already put a puck of soap in) and an Ever Ready Pure Badger 400 PB brush that was offered as a set moving clockwise... A 1930's Gillette New OC with a common bar handle - A few weeks back I picked up a couple 1930's New OC's not realizing at the time that there was both a short comb and a long comb - The two I got previous (http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/the-haul-january-2014.35585/#post-628173) were long combs and the one pictured here is a short comb so I'll be anxious to compare An EverReady Shovel Head SE - Not sure but I think most of these are referred to as 1924? The finish on this one is terrible but I've been kinda curious to shave with a Shovel Head and they seem to be harder to find around here than other models plus I like the idea that it opens from the back Finally, a 1914 EveryReady
I ordered a Merkur progress today. I'm really jazzed! Also 444 and Barbon, 2 Yeti soaps. What I'm really fired up to try is HTGAM synergy lime. I just hope my wife isn't home when they all arrive.
The Black Ice is my current favorite in the Stirling line. Love the black licorice (anise) and method chill in the morn!
What, no love for the straight or barber's towel? I'm eager to try it all, can't wait for tomorrows shave!
