Vintage Ever-Ready My vintage Ever-Ready unused "pure badger" shaving brush arrived today. [vbpg]1132[/vbpg] [vbpg]1133[/vbpg] A review to follow.
Jim, that Plisson HMW #12 is a very striking brush. I'd like to hear how you like it. Steve, I have a real affinity for the vintage brushes...I am confused about how to tell if they're badger or not. Some will have the PB designation but so many others are not so clear. Nice one
Today I've received a package from www.feineseifen.de : It contains: - 2 tubs with lid, made from olive wood, - 1 Agar Musk shaving soap, - 1 Lemongrass shavingsoap - 1 Lavender shaving soap and - 1 Rosegarden shaving soap Pictures??? Here they are :
Tom, most of the one's I've come across have been marked "badger" or "bristle". Even if it's not marked, by handling many brushes you learn to tell the difference. Nylon is the easy one. It's taken me a while to find a couple of good ones that were keepers. A lot of the time they are shedders, sometimes the hair is brittle and breaks off in little pieces. The Ever-Readys and some of the others are not densely packed, these were not premium brushes but some of the handles are quite nice. There is something nostalgic about a vintage "drug store" brush.
