A very nice 1953 SS from Bronco (Thanks!), complete with a bonus travel razor and some blades. [Pix sadly unavailable at the moment, but the razors were in really superb condition.]
A visit to the Antique Store ....yielded a SS, a Franz Swaty straight razor hone and five pair of cufflinks. Everything should clean up well.
A couple of new additions to my razor family -- Burgundy case 1946/47 Aristocrat and cased S1 long handle Super Adjustable -- which are oddly difficult to find.
Very nice, Steve and Rick, lots of shiny metal there! I thought I had already posted these pics, but I guess something went wrong: I got my new espresso machine today - a Rancilio Silvia to replace my Krups Novo 2100
That is nice, Klaus. And no offense, but I HATE those predominately plastic Krups espresso makers. If the portafilter can't be attached or removed without having to hold the machine down with your other hand to keep it from moving, then it's not a real espresso machine in my book. EDIT: I just noticed the grounds tamper. That's a work of art!
What a nice Haul!! Today, another lovely Haul flew in from Europe! 3x Palmolive shaving sticks 1x Dalan Eucalyptus/Menta S/C tube 1x Irisch Moos S/C tube 1x De Vergulde Hand shaving stick 1x Mama Bear Lavender/Peppermint shaving stick sample 1x St-James S/C sample 1x sample of cream that I don't even know! :ashamed001 great, great stuff!
Yeah, well, the Krups was mighty fine when I bought it a few years back when I still was in school, but it just didn't grow with my demands. Not having to hold the machine while attaching or detaching the portafilter is one of the things I really like about my Silvia. The tamper? Well, it's actually one of the cheapest aluminium-tampers out there. But it works great and looks nice
Wow, Great hauls out there Fellas! :drool :drool :happy005 Congrats Klaus! Miss Silvia looks sweet! A new lighting tool arrived today.................
1x Gada Cool Mint shaving cream tube 1x Gada Original shaving cream tube 1x Proraso Aloe & Green tea bowl 1x package of Al-Wazir bath soap (from Lebanon, and smells EXACTLY like Arko shaving soap!) The Gada creams are for to ship to England, the Proraso White bowl and the bath soap are for me.
Blades from JustbeautySupplies. The rest from Connaught Shaving. Decided the ceramic container for MWF was too much even from Paul, but thought it deserved a special place, so I went with the wooden bowl.
Once again not shaving related but still cool New tapers and plugs to bring my ears back to their former awesomeness Right now they're 14g but when I'm done they'll be 6g again, for reference these are 6g
@ChemErik: Did you get the mentholated Valobra? Both are nice but I love the mentholated version @Jen: What do you do exactly with these plugs? Sorry, I've never really delved into the matter of earrings... @Gisle: Be sure to videotape your attempt to shave with the stuff and put it on youtube
I knew it is used as an ingredient in shaving soap but I didn't know it could be used on it's own... But if the clay is fine enough I gues it could work.
I washed my hands with it, and though it takes a while to completely dissolve, it didn't leave any gritty stuff. It feels like compressed ashes. It made a low, hardly noticeable lather, but i bet it'll work just fine...
