The Haul: July 16th, 2012 - July 22nd, 2012

Yes I did try that head once. The heads that come with the handles are not good. So the handle is what you go for with these. I had a couple of Gillette OC heads in chrome that matched up well with this one so that is how this razor was cobbled together.

 

That may be why the supplier is out of stock because of complaints on the heads.

 

So I'm finally all unpacked at home, got everything reorganized in my Den and finally had an up close look at the Dubl Duck that JoAnna sent to Glen to get restored. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. That pitting which he saw as a cosmetic flaw actually just gives it a great deal of character and I think it looks perfect. Can't wait to give this baby a go tomorrow morning!!!!!

 

Been angling for one of these in nickel for a while (I have the gold). Just a tad more aggressive than a Tech. Looking forward to cleaning it up; looks like it should polish up fine.

Woo Hoo! Won a great Auction tonight super excited about it! My wife recently stated shaving with a DE and has been using my old ball end tech. Well I won an auction for US tonight I was looking for her a long handled vintage Gillette and found these!

I got them both for $45 shipped. I have seen fatboys go for more than that by themselves needless to say I'm tickled to get a new razor and Evelyn one too.
