I saw these in the store yesterday. Is the caffeine just a gimmick or does it actually do something? If you could maybe post a review after using them that would be very cool, as I am curious...
George Emerson "The true Apollo ring" SR with wood scales. Last of the 5 Blades. I wasn't going to get this one, but the boker St Regis broke when I started to clean up the blade. The last if the $10.00 straights.
And then came the Fatboy (F3). Along with three blades that the kind lady enclosed. Put me back the equivalent of somewhere between 15 and 20 bucks. Dial and twist both seem to work just fine Not sure if it shows here, but should there have been a cap of some kind at the end?
For those interested in my mini review of the Pacific Shaving Company's caffeinated cream/balm: Save your money. This was the thirstiest cream I've ever tried (and I have ridiculously soft water). When built, the lather was thin (and that's giving it more credit than I really should). In four years of wet shaving, I have never dreaded a second pass until today. For my second pass, I had to add more cream because the "lather" that I built up was dead and buried. I felt the blade at every stroke of the razor. The balm is a bit better but it is really thick (think Aveeno hand lotion). However, the balm really does soothe the skin and between that and my witch hazel, my face isn't irritated and it is still soft. I was going to add these things into a lot that I have set back for when I can trade here in TSD but that will still be a couple of months away so here's the deal: if anyone still wants to try it, shoot me a PM and you can have it.
Also, I forgot to mention that there is hardly any scent at all and I'm personally a fan of a strong scented shave.
That's great for the price. Are you referring to an end cap at the base of the handle? If so, no. Gillette did not have caps at the handle ends on the fat boys.
Thanks! That was indeed what I was thinking of. Price wise, seems good, yes, having looked at the going rate on the bay (which varies a lot, and I couldn't discern a clear pattern to this variation). Just went over it with dish soap and a toothbrush, metal polish and a cloth, then a final alcohol dip. Good to go!
I have a fatboy and it has endcaps. I believe they started putting end caps on the super speeds in 46 and on.
I believe you are correct. I saw end and I saw cap and I put them together. Thanks for the correction.
