    I got my Schick Krona today. Woo-hoo! Thanks, John, @Screwtape.

    Then, in three packages, I had lots of knots: seven synthetics from Maggards, and a 30mm boar from Whipped Dog.

    It is a really nice knot. No initial funk, and it is pretty soft with good backbone.

    Last weekend's project: a stand for my double edge razors made out of an old scrap of Marblewood.

    Finally broke down and got some Black Tea and Vanilla soap, and a couple of others.

    Moisture content of shave soaps;

    Multiple milled < soft croaps < creams

    So a shave cream is a product containing more hydration because it's pre-bloomed by the manufacturer. ;)

    This month has been like Christmas in July. Two packages arrived today. One from @Jrdelgado with a Rubberset #3 and Rubberset travel brushes in need of knots. Also from @MR41, a nice Gillette Mono Tech from Brazil. One odd thing, while there is a quarter production, 3, there is no year code.
    Edit: After close examination, well at least as close as my eyes can tell, there is what looks like the bottom part of a C for the year 1957, although very faint. So that's what I'm going to call it, besides, it's my birth year and just missing out for my quarter, 4.

    That's a gorgeous razor. My holy grail razor. Are you going to clean it up or leave the patina?

    Congrats on the haul! Maybe the 3 is a aggressive marker?

    This is what I gather ... Palmolive first made the soap and was labeled as Palmolive cup soap. Later it was marketed as Colgate cup soap; then even later it was reformulated as Colgate mug soap. I have heard the Colgate cup soap is far superior than it's reformulated Colgate mug soap. I would estimate it as 50's or 60's.

    Mail Call from the Stray Whisker, another fantastic sexy soap, I can smell straight from the tub which are, sweet tobacco leaf, tonka bean, maybe ginger, something spicy in the background and I'm not 100% sure there could be cocoa as well.
