I split the real estate so that I can shave more often. (Why yes, I am an addict .) But I don't suppose you have that option...
Well...Good morning I'd say!!! Early morning hike with the guys, then trip to WestCoastShaving and breakfast. May have went a little overboard, but how often do you get to peruse the stock @ WCS. In addition to whats in the pics, I picked up a Merkur 1904 Open Comb and Omega Badger brush for brother's birthday and father's day. The TOBS St. James scent is amazing...Think I may use this first, but who knows...So many choices! The Full Haul The Creams The Soaps The Blades The After Shaves I did get to look at the Simpson display...It's a look, but don't touch display for me at this point!
Got these neat little anchor hocking bowls for soaps. $6.49 for six of them shipped (Amazon Prime) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002XUL5IG/?tag=thshde-20
Yeah...Great deal, I picked those up too. Put the above MWF refill puck into it, seems a great size for soaps and basically airtight! Quality product for sure.
I picked up some TBS Maca Root shave cream and the matching face wash last week. I like the face wash but have yet to try the shave cream.
You will not be disappointed, the SC is awesome. Very easy to lather and gives a good shave. I also use the maca face lotion (oil control or something) and have used the razor relief as well as the shave oil. The entire line (that I've tried anyhow) performs very well. My only negative is the maca deo, it just doesn't work well for me.
I finally got myself a good face lathing brush, it seem so far anyway. The #58 I received about a week ago so I thought I would include it in the picture.
Dude I love the face wash. It's so moisturizing and refreshing. I don't get an earthy scent. It's more complex than that.
Nice Mail Call today. A killer travel case, 6 brushes for restore, a Soluna, Twist and a wierd Tech. The Gillette are English. Plus soap lovelies from Gingers Garden. The Soft Soap is Ice and the other as you can see is Oakmoss and Lavender. Both smell awesome ans I'm sure will lather as well as Irenas other soaps. Haven't tried one of her "soft/solids" yet. Gonna use it tonight to celebrate Menthol Monday! Need some knots!!
Here is the newest lot of restored brushes for my personal collection. There were a few more, but I'll save those for another pic. All of these brushes are pre-bloom except for the Ever-Ready laying down, it has its original knot still in it.
I gotta share, even though I don't have a pic atm (looks at Swarden43, waiting for the admonishment). I will be doing that late tonight or tomorrow night. Got distracted last night trying to figure out what they were to pic/clean/pic. Razor 1: 1921 what looks like a Gillette "Old style" Brownie or Genuine (but not Genuine Ivory Soap) - open comb (comb doesn't "descend" like the "New Style" razors), serial # P36X410 (I don't remember ~exactly~) engraved/stamped on the top of the err... (I'm forgetting my razor anatomy) the plate right above the handle. It's a bit odd... 4 piece design - upper and lower head per usual, but the neck separates from the rest of the handle. Ball finial does not detach. Razor #2: looks a lot like a Gillette Super Speed, but the band right above the TTO knob is smooth (not knurled) as I've seen on all the pics I've looked at. It is American made - rectangular "plates" on the side of the head, looking at the bottom plate - (clockwise from upper left) REG?; umm... err... I don't remember the upper right corner; Gillette logo; Made in USA. Interior of the blade area - Patents on package. Center bar raises and is shown flush with the doors when closed - bar is not notched for better blade placement, has small "wings" as blade stop; open on the end of the handle (not closed like a rocket). Since the razor isn't "notched for blade dispenser", I'm guessing it is a 1947; but I can't find a good 100% match. Came with a case that looks remarkably like the case from a 1925 Traveller Silver - leather (faux?) with front snap, purple silky on "lid" (logo is missing from the interior), purple velvety on lower. Lower area from "hinge" to snap: tube, razor bed (with spaces for spare razor cases, but cases missing), tube, snap. Tubes are silver (plated, may be nickel - pretty heavily tarnished), "bead band" around the top of the tubes and where it opens - brush tube (with brush, heavily deteriorated) + Shave stick tube (still has a shave stick in it) I know, I know; I can hear the chanting from here. PICS!!! DUDE!! I found it! (or at least I think so - no pic of inside + underside of razor plate.) https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-...AAAAAAANs4/Ob7Ksde2Lt4/s612/ranger-tech-0.jpg 1946 Ranger Tech Lydia
Great Haul from US friend appeared this day. 2 straights, a lot of menthol, (crystals and M-Bomb), 2 KMF creams, vintage Williams and blades! I'm really happy to get all of that! Thank you very much, Danny!
I picked up a couple of adjustables in the last two days. The Aristocrat Adjustable is pretty clean and may even have been never used. The Black Beauty needs some TLC. This is my plan:
