Got a Kriss Kross blade sharpener, an E4 Fatboy and a J1 slim for a little uner $40 with shipping. The slim has some plating loss, but I bought this for the Fatboy, which looks like it will clean up pretty good. I also wanted to take a look at the Kriss Kross sharpener, not that I know what I'm going to do with it.
Eeerrrhhmergaaard! Lookit what came in the mails! His and Hers Custom Brush Handles From The Artist Known As Steve / oscar11 Wow! Wow! Wow! The picture does not do them justice. Thank You Steve!
Saturday I went out to pick up a Father's Day gift for my Dad. He had been complaining about the cost of the Fusion blades and I knew a junk store that had a nice Atra handle for a buck. I had already given him a DE razor and he didn't like that at all. When driving to the junk store I notice a flea market I had not noticed before, after getting my dad the handle and some CVS blades. I stopped at the flea market on my way home. I was looking around but saw no razors just some old Avon bottles that I already had, so was heading out the door. When the girl working there asked me, If I was looking for something in particular. Of course, I replied old razors or old shaving stuff, that is what I collect. She said, I think there is some stuff like that in the backroom. I was expecting old burned out razors but she brought out a box with cased razors and some bent tooth open combs. Keeping my poker face on when I saw the Fatboy when she was bringing the box to the counter. I looked through the box, pull out these razors and blades and asked "How much for these?" She said "How about $25?" Trying hard not to lock my knees because I might pass out from the shock of what she just asked for them. Keeping my poker face on strong I responded, "Would you take $15?". She said, "Yeah, I can do that!". I reach for my wallet as fast as possible and gave her the money. When I got my change back the poker face was gone and I was grinning from ear to ear. She looked at me a little funny, I bet as soon as I left she researched razor prices. I don't think I will get a deal there like that again but whoa what a deal I got this time. Anyway...What I did get was a cased Blue tip with instructions that looks like it has never seen water, cased Black Tip, cased SS with regular on the case, 1960 cased Fatboy, and Schick Super Chromium blades.
Packages in the mail today: Hibbert, Spencer & Bartlett razor (which I think will get a matching handle to my custom shave brush); Australian "Damascus" Hollow Magnetic (whatever that is) straight; 22mm Omega boar knot (from TGN) for my "knob" brush; and 24mm silvertip knot (from China) for my custom handle.
Awesome score! I paid a LOT more than that for just my case-less Fatboy. Way to keep that poker face on!
The problem is I don't tell everybody about the times, I find a Tech with no plating left and they are asking $50.
Finally broke down and bought a FatBoy. G-4. Minty, crispy, flawless. My sniper skills had to be exceptional to score this beauty at a great price. (for a FB that is)
I was PIF'ed a (Steve/oscar11) brush by Hanzo, and as you say the pictures really dont do his work justice. Im sure you will enjoy the for many years congrats, they look stunning.
