Actually I was just looking at that page - so it's definitely not a 69 probably late 70s. It has the plastic base plate but I haven't opened yet to get the date code.
So, will you be using it, or will it remain unopened? If you got it for the sticker price, it would be the bargain of the year.
I debated opening it but decided to go ahead. Just finished using it - I can see why so many people like it. Once it was opened I found the date code - 1982. Not as old as I was hoping but still 3 years older than me. I paid a little more than the price on the box but for $20 I am pretty happy with my purchase.
Be sure to let us know what you think of it. It looks like a nice razor. I think I'm officially a fan of open comb razors now.
$20 is a steal. Excellent purchase. Unopened on eBay they're going for over $100. That's a nice score. Let us know how it shaves.
Yes, I saw that. Somehow I managed to convince my wife (and myself) that it would be better for me to open it and use it.
Or......sold it for $125 and bought another already opened one for $40 and take her out for dinner for the $85 Too late now - and, don't tell her that was an option
Ahhhh.... I would have done the same thing. Dinner you can do anytime. Opening up a NOS Gillette super adjustable gets rarer by the minute. Enjoy the shaves.
Mark that looks great. I got a quote from Nick on the Red and Black New Deluxe I have been using this week. I am still debating on which finish. One option would be to replate it gold as it was originally or go with Rhodium.
