What a lovely looking piece! I'm going to have to hunt one of these down!

 

Not really a haul. Several years of hunting for one, I broke down and purchased one from a group site.

 

Oooooooooh damn.. Now she's a beauty. It's only the second time I've seen one.

 

Probably not everyone's cup of tea...but I was rather thrilled to get it at the price that I did as it's in near mint condition.

If you can't tell - it's a Kenneth Grange Milward Courier electric shaver from 1963.
That year Sir Kenneth Grange, 34 years old at the time, won the Duke of Edinburgh's price for Elegant Design.

Technically, the steel cutter screen is mounted in chromium-plated brass with a melamine casing that houses three circular cutting blades. It runs on four "AA" batteries.





It's smaller than it may seem and is surprisingly comfortable to hold.


I will most certainly be trying it out as the motor and blades seems to work great.

Mark, I really like L'Orange Noir and American Blend, Platinum will be my next Fine soap.

 

Harris Teeter has the 9 oz Clubman Finest talc on clearance for $2.99. It's always been more than that wherever I've seen it so never tried it. If i like it I'll get more. Those of you who use it, is that a decent price off the shelf?

Edit...cracked it open and it smells just like Avon Windjammer, i think, or close to original Wild Country. Nice, I like it.

I went to a local flea market this morning and stumbled upon these two razors. One is a Henry Sears and the other is a Kiebitz.

The Henry Sears seems alright, with no damage to the blade or scales and the pins are reasonably tight. It does need a good honing as there is a slight "smile" on it.

The Kiebitz razor looks mint! The scales are gorgeous and there a design on the spine. It looks barely used. I can't find much on the internet on the Kiebitz, but I did find that they were made in the 1950s in Germany.

I paid $40 for both. I think I did okay.

 

By the way, my wife doesn't know about these yet.

Unlike eBay purchases, I can keep the price a secret... until she hacks my TSD login.

Very Fine! I may have to try some of that!

 

Super Speed TTO "Red" Flair Tip A3 1955 with the original case. This was the first year for the Red Tip. Also period correct blade pack with instructions! It looked good on the bay, but in real life it looks brand new. I'm very happy with this one. Another "My last razor......"

 

Got it from Maggards. The OSP soap I have heard good things about it, plan on trying it out for tomorrows shave.

 

Dang those are beautiful. Great haul and price.

We'll I don't want you getting in trouble, so I will give ya $45 so you can tell the missus you found $5!

 

I've been seeing a bunch of Fatboys on Ebay for decent prices lately, but always after I buy something else. Gotta learn not to do any impulse buying and wait for "the one".
