The Haul: June 2016

My first haul and It all finally arrive.



Stirling soap sample with the Glacial Lemon Chill on recommendation from @robyflex. The other soaps I just wanted to try and the scents are ahhmazing. The bay rum is a bit strong, but I will try it. The Lemon chill was out to the test this morning and WHOA...very strange but nice feel.

The Slims both need a good cleaning and the black beauty it going to need some mineral oil. She's a squeaker.

That is a real sweet haul! It looks like new! With everything like new, will you shave with it, or display it, or both?

 

George I'm glad the soap worked for you. I hope you can get that Black Beauty working smoothly, it's one fine shaver.

 

That glacial lemon chill is one of my favorite soaps. It's a great way to start a hot summer day!

 

It works but damn what a squeaker. I will start with some squirts and if needed I will soak it too. Just in case I have googled disassembly...looks easy, but assembly might be an issue

My WHOA was no understatement as I have never used a mentholated soap before. Definitely cleared the sinuses and left a smooth finish.

Thanks, Both! I use everything in my Den. I used it today. It shaves a lot like my FB on 5. I think I'll keep it

 

Wow! That's my impression of the red tip... A fat boy on 5.

 

A vintage bottle (20th century, probably pre 1980, given the packaging) of L.T. Piver "Eau de Cologne des Princes" Farina style cologne. It's a classic cologne, like 4711, Cella Classica, and Farina 1709.

Here's my $3 haul

 

I've been on vacation for the past nine days, and came back with this...


The mug's a Shulton, a bit faded but still legible. The brush is a Strong Set "Pure Bristles" with the "rong" in Strong faint but readable, and a small crack below the knot. Gonna give it a go tonight with three days' growth on my chin.

 

I had one like that, took a few trips in the ultrasonic and finally WD40 to get it smooth. After all that I sold it to another guy here.

 

I've been shaving with it all week and yeah it's cold, especially on the second pass. Smells great. Follow it up with a good menthol aftershave.

 

That's right! I bought it because I wanted it!

Oh and I found two D2 Flair Tips also...

 

Those two razors are Gillette TV specials. Congrats on the haul.

 

A Zenith B18. Just to see if it will outperform my Omega 49. It does seem a little softer at the tips but just as much backbone as the Omega. The handle is chrome covered copper, so it has a good bit of heft. Ill start the break in soon and see how it does.

 

I have to omega and it's a very stiff brush. The hairs are soo thick.
