Finally grabbed a "G" inside a "D" from France. Strange that there are no serial numbers anywhere so I can't really put a date to it. Makes a nice oddity for my collection.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    SharptoothC I bite..........

Grabbed it for $18, and it looks like it will clean up. It has a little brassing on it, but it wasn't dirty at all.

Hi all, been a while since I have posted. The wife and I are moving to a new home next week. Over 12 years ago we moved into her mom and dad's home to help with her dad who had Parkinson's. Both her parents have passed and the time has come for us to move. (we are downsizing) It is been a big process going through not just our stuff but all her mom and dad's stuff. Last night I ran across this find tucked away in a dresser drawer. I have not had chance to do any research yet but thought I would share the pic. If anyone has any details, please let me know

I have pretty well limited myself to acquiring LE/SE brushes. However, when I saw this I had to break the rule. The handle is excellent - perfect fit and finish. Another winner from Semogue.

I was fortunate to acquire this from a fellow TSN member. The handle is beautiful; the knot is up to the typical TSN/Semogue standard. Soft tips/firm backbone. Nice for face lathering. (97/100)

Please explain? Limited Edition / Single Edition?

Shave sites such as The Shave Nook, Against the Grain, and Badger and Blade (to name a few) produce a Limited Edition or Special Edition brush on an annual basis. The number of brushes is limited. I have seen some sites do 50, 100, or 200. Normally they are numbered (1/100, 2/100, 3/100, etc). These brushes have unique handles and often a specially developed knot, just for the release. Once the run is sold out the only way to acquire one is through a site Buy/Sell/Trade. They are most always highly sought after and some bring a premium price.

    Hope this helps.

@Herm2502 . Very nice. Simpson makes great knots. Enjoy.

Thanks. It looks really nice and it seems fairly soft. I always wanted to try a Simpson, but didn't want to spend the big $$. This one is small, but only $20, so why "knot" try it?

I recently built a gaming pc for my son since store bought pc were too expensive and he couldn’t game with the ones we could afford. Since then my personal pc has been acting up and isn’t compatible with windows 10. So I’m building another one.

That is cool! What are the specs? My old PC is dying and I've thought of building one.

    I bought a
-Ryzen 2200g cpu/gpu that comes with a cpu cooler. I believe it’s 3.5ghz but can easily be overclocked to 3.8ghz but for basic pc use it doesn’t need to be. It can do some impressive gaming and medium editing and can really handle daily stuff easily without the need for an additional graphics card.
    - Asrock B350 gaming itx motherboard that has built in WiFi and Bluetooth which eliminates buying separate components
    - 8gb ddr4 ram
    - I got a 650watt power supply which is modular and well because it was modular and inexpensive
    - 250gb ssd drive to run the programs fast
    - 2tb hard drive for all my storage needs
    - cooler master micro case for its size

I think overall I paid about $525 but with rebates I’m looking at under $500 and the pc will be better at that price point than what I can buy like at Best Buy and cheaper. It won’t come with unnecessary programs or garbage. All I have to do now is clone my hard drive from my old pc onto the ssd and new hard drive and it should be good to go. I’m also reusing the dvd drive from my old pc as the new case doesn’t have one and because I can ;-)

From the 1970s, the Contour was one of the last models made by GEM. I found this nice specimen on AndrewShaveShop on Esty. Andrew has some fine user grade vintage razors at reasonable prices. This one cleaned up very well. I look forward to trying it out in a couple of weeks.

It appears to be mostly stainless steel with the handle partially clad in plastic or vinyl. It is a push button razor with a very nice feel.

Glad to see it was delivered in good shape Jim. I was surprised as I bet you were that the razor (at least some parts) was stainless steel.

My sister deals with the grief of the loss of her cat by redecorating .... she called me and asked if I could use her leather couch. We've been the third on our hand-me-down futon, so I gladly accepted her offer and drove an hour and half round trip to pick it up. After cleaning it and conditioning the leather, we now have a leather couch.

It look similar to this one and in very nice shape.
