A J. B. Williams promotional giveaway. Smallest Aqua Velva I ever saw. Contains unused cream but the bottle is empty. Put a quarter on top for size scale.
An unmarked brush I think it might be a older Vulfix, but that's just a guess on my part. The badger hair were all stuck together and soaked and washed it about 8-10 times to get them to feel somewhat right. There's aluminum ferrule at the base of the knot and the knot is got soft external badger hairs and stiffer center hairs. Which makes me think its a boar badger blend or cased. I'm not real fond of the knot, but the handle has some nice weight, so if I keep it, I'll be re-knotting it.
found in the local antique shop today...anyone heard of this before? old english lavender shave soap, puck looks unused. dp in the center of the puck.
Found this unique brush at a flea market. Can't find any info on it but I really like the handle so I have plans for a restoration and there is a 2 band silvertip shavemac knot inbound...
I believe Drake shaving brushes contracted Ever Ready and Rubberset to make their brushes. You can see the similarities in the looks of them in the examples you see on the web. BTW that a real beauty!
Thank you for the info! I've been looking on Old School Shaving Brushes and there is no mention but there are several rubber sets that are dead ringers for it.
Yes very nice looking. What year is it? Does it shave different than your other one? My B.D. is my most aggressive razor and I have been unable to tame it.
Both of them are 1920. But I tell you what, I just shaved with the newer one and it wasn’t as aggressive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I’ve seen some here and there and almost picked up a nos one but it went for more than my wallet wanted to give up. Congrats!
mine's a 1918 and I have yet to get a easy shave from it. The R41 I can walk away with no sting (alum). Not my BD. Tried 6 different blades. Still luv the looks and will never part with her. I use only twice a year. Memorial day and Vet's day (since it with my Military set). The BG is a beauty!
