Yeah I'll do something along those lines and see if it comes apart or not. The thing is looking closer at it it again seems to have some visual/design differences to the razors posted on @mr-razor 's site so it might, again, be some knock off solid handle.
Looks like the perfect hardware for a shave to celebrate a successful tonsillectomy. Hope she has a safe and speedy recovery.
daVinci 299 Kebony wood handle, bloomed after one palm lather of some TOBS Eton College cream. It whipped up a mountain of lather very easily. This is definitely the most compliant brush I have. The feel on my palm was actually a bit scrubby, zero scritch. The tips are already hooking. The handle has a very natural feel. Apparently Kebony is a sustainable soft wood that's been stabilized with a bio-based liquid to make it a practical alternative to tropical hardwoods. kebony.com has information about this product. It is intended to perform well in adverse conditions.So far a nice addition to the lineup.

Bid $23 and won this NIB Kent Mach3 cartridge razor. Now. don't get me wrong...it's a nice razor handle...but if I had paid the price the seller stated he originally paid (and which the price tag on the box states - $14o - I must admit I would had felt rather disappointed. It has a very nice shape to it but..it doesn't feel significantly 'superior' to the 10, 20 30 dollar handles I already have. It's relatively lightweight and..well..normal feeling. I did however feel rather regal as I sat there on the couch Harry Pottering this posh piece of shaving equipment.
