Thanks! I hope a little sarcasm was obvious. I'm super excited. I've never been this lucky but about 1 in 5 razors I purchase for plating don't need anything more than a good cleaning. Back story: I do my own plating and buy a lot of Superspeeds and NEW LCs to plate and give as gifts. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Monday’s mail call is 2 epic packages. First from Barbus US is Dermacol Poker Face aftershave, 2 Barbus Classic aftershaves along with some free samples of their shave creams, aftershave gel and a packet of Tiger Platinum blades. Second is a 98% full bottle of Jade East from 1964. In all due honesty, the vintage formula of Jade East smells way better than its modern version.
A few more brushes to work on: Two Stag B1030's, a Beau Brummel 460 Up-Rite and another Rubberset 200-2.................
first one i have ever seen as well.,but that goes for most brushes.that's what makes them so interesting..they are being sold all over again..
1920's Milady Decolletee Parisienne arrived today. I also made up a reproduction instruction sheet for it...........
Thanks Gary. It does have the usual hairline crack at each end. But surprisingly all of the gold plate is intact.
Yesterday I received a package from the Bay. It was a vintage D. Miller & Son Eldon Workbroom Cut Throat Razor. I could not resist picking this up since it had my eldest sons name Eldon on the blade. It isn't a common name today and I always get a kick out of finding things that remind me of my family. It isn't sharp and will need a new edge, but the blade is not in bad shape. I am not sure of the age, but I would guess it is from the 1890's. It is always cool to shave with history. If anyone knows anything about this razor, let me know. The scales look old and a bit small for the blade. My guess they are not the original. I though they were going to be made from wood like a broom handle, but they appear to be some kind of plastic or horn. Nevertheless, I can't wait to get this guy shave ready. I am waiting for a 1000 grit stone on back order, and will try honing this once I receive it. My lowest is 4000 and I think I need to go lower. I'm inexperienced in honing so this will be a nice project to learn with and improve my skills. The razor was only $15 so I am not worried about trying to restore it. I don't want to ruin it, but I think it will turn out fine.
Wednesday FedEx call is a Blackland Dart high polished stainless steel DE razor I bought with my winnings from the casino from Monday morning.
