From the seller: "During a period of about 2 years (2011-13) Simpson had a phenomenal 2 Band hair with amazing characteristics: fine, but resilient, assembled in uniform, bulbous, densely (for 2 Band) packed knots. These are still carrying the “Made in England” sticker and came first in grey and then green boxes. 2 Bands of that time were produced infrequently, when such hair was on hand, and set into handles not specially marked. That’s why you find those in handles marked “Best Badger” or “Super Badger”. I approached Mark Watterson at the time and asked, if he could do a few customs for me and so a series of brushes came together, some specially marked “Silvertip” - a nomenclature Simpson then kept for any following 2 Band offering. The Harvard 4 is a “unicorn”, i.e. to my knowledge this is the ONLY H4 ever produced in that hair. I asked this to be made with 25/50mm knots."
There is NOTHING in my shave den that's a "keeper". My den is in a constant state of flux. That's how I like it.
Starting to accumulate a lot of Synthetic brushes with all the sales lately and mentioned to the wife I'm looking for a spice rack or something along that line of holders. Bought this one at the thrift shop she goes to and repurposed one spice rack for these wonderful synthetic brushes for a $2.00 Canadian and it came with glass spice shakers. I do not know if this is a good position to dry natural hair shaving brushes, but for synthetic shaving brushes should not be a problem IMO. Have some great shaves! Stay and think safe in these times!
Just received another Yaqi brush from their 11.11 sale, I paid a little more for this one but there is something about the look of this knot that made me want to buy it + 2 more on the way. The packaging sure took some abuse getting here. The brush is called the Yaqi Artic sky 24mm knot, it feels as good as it looks with some backbone also, tomorrow it will get a work out. Have some great shaves! Stay & think safe in these times!
