Some of my Oct Haul. Yes , I did go BatCrap Crazy, but these Cadet razors looked so good and I had not heard a lot about them, I thought I'd give them a shot. The two in the middle are destined for a custom presentation case (In progress), I have already used the back centre one (OC), plan on using the back row "in circulation", planning on "Swapping" (although he doesn't realize it may be temporary) the gold Sabi razor in the front with my 22 yr old son who has already "BORROWED" my Merkur (Gift from eldest son). The guys from Shaveabuck were awesome. I think we will deal again. Thanks for the unexpected extras too. I REALLY appreciate it. !!!~!!!
Stocking up for Bay Rum Week. And at the same time I had to get me a piece of Fitjarsoaps entry to the Scent of 2013 challenge, hosted by Mantic's sharpologist site
I was the fortunate winner of a PIF down the road this week. I am looking forward to trying the RR Jaws Open comb and I needed some Labs for my blade testing: 5 Personna Barbers, 5 Blue Labs, 5 Med Preps, and 5 Israeli Crystals 1 puck of Haslinger Schafmilch Rasierseife mit Scchafmilch & Lanolin RazorRock Jaws Three Piece OC Razor 1 bar of Mike's Natural Bath Soap: Pine and Cedarwood Olive Oil 1/4 lb bag Smatcha Chinese Oolong tea, Tie Kuan Yin (Iron Goddess of Compassion) I also ordered some Speick cream and some Barbon cream and aftershave. I picked up this Gillette Super Speed. I plan to include it in a PIF before too long. It should clean up nicely.
Stopped in a very junky looking antique store up in North Jersey and came across these - $3 each Two new injectors, to make my total count of injectors at three. I'll be using the PAL starting tomorrow and see how that does. As it's adjustable, I'll be starting at the mid-setting. The Gem SE G Bar looks almost brand new. I used it this morning and was rewarded with a darn near BBS shave. Talk about comfortable! The Lady Blue Star is H4, 4th quarter 1962. I'm H2 myself . Gents, don't pass on the opportunity to try one of these Lady Star razors - fantastic shaves. Any one have any idea on the Schick? Model name or number? Date? It had a thick, dull dummy blade in it, so I'm thinking it's never been used. Certainly looks brand new. Anyway - happy me!!!
Oh man, oh man...the next thing has arrived yesterday.A custom made Brush and Razor stand. Made out of Stainless Steel. It has a weight of nearly 500g.Really heavy and i´m thinking it´s really nice. But have a look: And here 2 pictures with Razor and Brush: Nice, ain´t it?! Greetings Thorsten
The Schick is a Type N1 made from 1980 to 1998. It does come from the factory with a dummy blade. So it is most likely NOS unless somebody kept the dummy blade and reinstalled before putting away but that is unlikely at best. Very nice haul! I will look forward to your thoughts on the Pal as I did not care much for mine.( weird angle and very aggressive to me) Edit: Adjustment is strange on the Pal. All other razors more blade gag means more aggressive, complete opposite on the Pal.
Thank you. I really love it too. It´s really heavy so i know that it will last a lifetime and it´s quality made. Glad to have it.
Thanks. I am able to see the blade gap decrease considerably going from L to H - the opposite of what one would think, as you said.
I got a sample of Cella and a mystery sample of soap in a PIF (thank you CJames) along with another Whipped Dog straight along with to cases.
