I found these zaza blades in a passage where I also saw some parkers, rimeis and some unbranded safety razors there. If I didn't buy any gillette de razors, I'd buy one of them. I'll try a zaza blade in tomorrow's shave.
Wow i didn't know they made them so old. I am just kidding. That is a really nice looking razor and case you have there.
Look for American razors. They are very underrated. I guess people want the exotic appeal of a foreign razor. Some unknown German brands can be had for cheap too.
That's awesome. Rod makes some great soaps. You have some of my favorite flavors. The Barbershop is a great soap, so is electric sheep.
My first How to grow a moustache soap turned up today. Lo Haiku. Very strong scent, very masculine i really like it.
Today's pickup, an Old Spice mug at a thrift store for $5. I don't even like the scent but figured $5 was hard to pass up.
Family in Haines City so once every year or two. I might be down there in February so you can take me fishing in exchange for a nice J2.
Went over to my grandparents today. Awhile ago I'd told my grandma I started DE shaving. Today, she handed me a de razor and said it was her dad's. I never met my great-grandpa Roberts, so this is really cool. After some digging, I've decided its a 1964 Gillette Slim Super Speed Adjustable w/ date code J 3 on it. So I am really stoked. I've already cleaned it and I am getting ready to shower and shave with it. I tried to post a pic but my yahoo won't accept pics from my phone. It also had an old Gillette blade pack with it.
I recently bought a new razor. it's the matador elegante. it came with the box and ten blades. without further ado......
This is so true. Some VERY good values to be had and some excellent vintage USA-stamped straight razors! They all don't have the exotic caché of some of the Sheffield or Solingen brands, but they're outstanding razors in their own right. Tortolani of Brooklyn...great shaver! Worcester Razor Co., Worcsester, Mass. C-Mons; Elliotville, NY
That's so awesome. I have mentioned my hobby to my grandpa more than once and he hasn't ever taken an interest in it. I remember from being a kid that he had a couple DE shavers but he most definitely doesn't use them now. Was kinda hoping he'd want me to have one. *shrug*
The common mistake is that it is a shave mug. It is actually a coffee mug from "The Morning Refresher" gift set that sold in 1984 - 1985. I snagged on about a month ago. It's nice and heavy, and keeps coffee hot for a long time. Great find!
Have you asked him directly? He may not have them anymore. If he does, tell him you want one. Heck, its your grandpa. Be direct.
