Last haul of the month, and probably for a long time also. Soap bowl with lid. For my MWF puck. 10 Big Ben sample blades. PTFE coated and very very cheap. Can't wait to try it. 1 Proraso Green 75ml soap. Great for travel.
What is your impression of the Seifenglatt soaps. I got three and mine is that they are a good soap, not spectacular. Seems to dry out a little too fast
I'm three shaves in, yes a good soap, worth the discounted price, not great, like MdC. I'm by no means dissatisfied, these soaps will be a regular in my rotation. As far as the drying out, or fading, I read about it elsewhere, and now your mentioning it, I haven't noticed anything drastic, I'll pay more attention next time. The skincare is nice, the scents are good, easy to lather, big jars! I bought the prototype so I knew possible something could be off. Over all, I'm happy! I really love the Seifenglatt Toulouse, man! It's my first Tabacco soap, green tabacco, mango, menthol.
I think you nailed it. As far as the drying out, maybe that's not the right description? It seems to loose consistency, maybe that's what I mean to say. I did notice it was better if I did not have my scuttle hot. I will face lather with it and see what happens in the morning
Maybe dissipate? Today I did experience a bit, I first went with a drier lather, which didn't work well, I add much more water and things got better. I think each scent is going to be a little different, which the end user will have to adjust accordingly. Let me know what happens tomorrow. Kerry
Got this at a local restaurant supply store. It was $20 compared to the rip off price of $40 on Amazon. Getting it to supplement my La Roccia stone which will be coming shortly.
I was just at the Christmas Tree Store over the weekend and, as always, went down the shaving isle. I was was surprised to see that they were selling an individual brush that was not part of a set. This brush was my first badger but was in a kit along with their luxury soap (love the mild scent and only $4-5 a puck) and mug. You can get what is essentially the exact same mug from high end retailers for the price of this kit alone but, let's face it, they are all made in China. Brush is very good but, after a few months of use, I got my first silvertip (Vulfix 2234) which, although very nice, and would now make a good travel brush, isn't as dense at it could be but, a great price for a silvertip (there are tradeoffs). So, after I got the Vulfix, I have to admit that I abandoned my Van Dr Hagen and it has be relegated to the back of my cabinet.
Thought I had hit the jackpot today. I'm in a local antique store and I see a almost mint condition vintage Yardley wooden soap bowl. Price? 15$. I started going crazy. Picked it up and opened it...........looked like someone cut the soap out of it!!!!! It still had little lines of soap on the bottom in weird patterns. Needless to say I was extremely let down.
