Today's arrivals: a 40's Super Speed in the box (both razor and box in need of some TLC), and a nickel '38-'45 Tech with triangular slots, in halfway decent condition. CORRECTION: it's actually a Canadian fat handle tech. Looked under the head and saw this:
LPL Rose De Pushkar I believe this was his last one. it is a nice earthy rose smell. I can't wait to use it tomorrow!!
Got some new razors while antiquing on our anniversary last month 1966 Gillette Super speed (L1) Ever Ready 1924 Model "Shovelhead" Gem "G" Bar (Not even used once) Gem 1912 Model with case and blade bank Good haul and best part is I only spent 35 bucks. (I also got another g bar just like that in same haul if someone is looking for one)
Here's a little before and after with the 40's SS I picked up today. Not completely done with restoring but so far the results are great.
I have one almost exactly like that with almost as much if not more green crud on it. It took a whole day of cleaning with toothpicks and brushes to get it clean. Heh Look forward to seeing the end result
Omega 80266 brush and stand, plus some commodity supplies in preparation for (A) the upcoming No-Variance No-Vember and (B) as possible inclusions in my forthcoming PIF which I am starting to accumulate supplies for. Pretty good deals on blades and soap. The Personna blades are $2.39 at my local Kroner for a 10-pack (compare at $7.30 for the same blade pack at CVS) and a store near me carries Williams soap for $1.25 a puck. Also the styptic pen was only $1.97 at the store where I bought it, while the same exact Clubman pen at CVS runs $4.97. So using my wife's logic... I *saved* like $26 today
I'd just given up on finding anything in my area of N.C., then today, through a series of fortunate events I was NOT looking for, I got these for $3 each. It was a complete fluke so it's probably my last find for a long, long time...but most of them are among the best, so that's nice.
