I wish I had some of my grandfather's razors and gear. I remember when they lived in their old house in Lake Jackson, Texas, their medicine cabinet had a slot in it for old razor blades. I assume they piled up inside the wall between the sheetrock. I wonder what kind of blades were in that wall. They moved into that house in the early 50's, I believe. Stayed there until the mid 70's and he was a DE shaving man all that time.
The only other thing I have is a very worn and in bad shape brush. I haven't really desided if the handle is worth a knot job. It's a no name brand, not something sought after and wellknown. I still keep it though.
Not yet, but hope to put it in rotation soon... Too much software as it is! The scent is good, but not great.
One of the best things about this hobby is the history behind the tools we use, and sharing that history. Too cool, thanks
I saw that IB has P.160 back in stock and decided since I was there I might as well try some XXX. I also love Pinaud Clubman and figured I would like the Classic Vanilla and Special Reserve as well.
My VP Leonhardy 70040 came in today and what a beast. It is a 25mm knot but this beast is bigger than my 30mm Super Silvertip in my RV chubby. Gave it a bath in the Master brush cleaner and restorer soap and talk about super soft tips. I ended up cleaning half of my brushes with this soap and some of my badger knots feel softer now than when I bought them new and the brushes dried out a lot faster now using this soap instead of the Dawn bath that I use to use. Highly recommend this brush soap over Dawn. 25mm Vp on left 30mm RV on right side 25mm Leonhardy on left side
All this: for just € 5! How about that! It's a open comb Gillette frankenrazor, still finding out it's components, a Rocket HD, a dutch labelled solid bar 'de Coiffeur' (meaning the Barber/Hairdresser), a tiny nobrand boar knotted brush.
Absolutely. I had a tube awhile back, but it got lost when I was moving. I love it and so does my dad.
