I've been waiting for a while and my Zulu Grey and Griffin Hill hones (with slurry stones) finally arrived on Friday. Griffin Hill on the left and Zulu Grey on the right. I'll be using them to do some in between touching up on my straights.
Received this Tally-Ho cream jar. The jar itself is a rather heavy and very solid milk glass one that should work well to store various cream samples that I got and to lather out of it. I don't think the Tally-Ho shaving brand did very well as I can't find any good information about it online and I've only ever seen one other of their jars.
Just returned from a weekend jaunt and as usual I couldn't drive past an antique store or resale shop without stopping in. First up is an Old Spice mug with a puck of soap included. The mug is an American Glass Early 01 (no ribs) with a 5oz puck of soap and it still has the paper sticker on the bottom of the mug. The soap was upside down in the mug and I was surprised to see (when I finally got it out) that it was the original soap since I've only seen the smaller size pucks and this one seemed enormous in comparison. The price was right (six bucks) so in my shopping cart it went. The mug needs to be cleaned up a bit but otherwise it's ready to use. We're in another store in a different town and I see a short handle Black Beauty in a plastic case. I flip the case over and again, another item in my price range. Meanwhile, my wife finds an item that she's interested in and it's also in the $7 dollar range, so up to the cash register we go and the nice lady say's "That's a mighty fine razor you've picked out, sir! Tell you what, how 'bout ten bucks even (for both items), and we call it good (tax included)." So out the door we went, each with our treasure and each was less than five bucks. I stopped at the next WalMart, bought a 94 cent toothbrush and a can of Scrubbing Bubbles, and shaved with my new acquisition the next morning. It still needs a little metal polish so I'll get to that later this week. Last but not least, a brand new Burma Shave set that's never been used. This is the second one I've acquired and this one is perfect. The first one I got several months ago had all the items but the tin had a couple dents and some of the packaging was missing.
3 boxes came in today. now I need to take these apart and clean them I need to figure out how to take them apart first.
I've given up on the schicks for the night. I got the stahly head cleaned up and loaded with an astra SP and a ball end tech handle. I have a very fine ball end stahly and @PLANofMAN it wasn't plate loss it was hairy soap scabs. I soaked and scrubed them off and the head is not only pretty but nearly flawless. Little corrosion I haven't been able to scrub off on the guard bars. I'm about to try it with a speick cream and arko superlather just because I can. I might be able to get the handle working too. I searched around and found pictures of the insides. Looks like everything is there if I can figure out how to reattach it all.
I wish I could find good stuff like that around here where I live, that Burma Shave set is the shizzle! And that SA ... Cool.
I've had a nice week: - B&M Cologne Russe splash - B&M Cologne Russe soap - B&M Latha Sandalwood - B&M Vetyver Santal (to replace one I'm just about about done with) - B&M tshirt - Two Type G Injectors - Fat-handle Tech with the magical triangular baseplate holes. The Tech didn't come this week, a couple weeks ago I think. I know the triangular-holed versions are known as not quite so mild, but I've been surprised at just how efficient it is. The shave feel and quality remind me a lot of my Standard, actually. The Cologne Russe products are really spectacular. Going to be mainstays for me this fall and winter, I can tell already. Up tonight is Latha Sandalwood and one of the injectors.

It comes free if you order $75 or more from them! But I think you can just buy them, too, if you don't order that much.
