They sell the stainless steel ptfe coated blades which are good to start with and seem to be the most preferred when you ask around.

There is really only about 4 distinct types of blades regardless of manufacturer for that Ever Ready
    uncoated stainless steel
    PTFE coated stainless steel
    carbon steel
    blue carbon steel

The carbon steel blades I find quite good also but they need to be dried between uses or they will rust.

My first of the taller old style glass Old Spice shaving mugs (conveniently labeled) and the ‘Morning Refresher’ Grand Turk coffee mug from the 80s. Junk store find.

1B4BD337-4B6C-4DB4-B1D9-3380E9A74BD1.jpeg Thrift store find for today. I found 3 vintage Avon aftershave car decanters, all of them mostly full for a trade today. From left to right: Excalibur in the Touring T; Tai Winds in the Stanley Steamer and Deep Woods in the Rolls Royce.

Thank you, sir! Looking forward to using it, both as my first shavette and also as a reference point on my straight razor learning curve.

While I was out "Saling", a package arrived. The knot opening is 21.5mm. That's a shame. I was hoping it would be 19mm or less. But it has an amazing pattern to it!
