Sadly I don't have everything But a bowl of IM would be nice indeed @Mike: While the old version dries easier due to the slits the newer version is far easier to handle. I ended up putting my first stick of the first version into a plastic doohickey because the soap wouldn't stick to the holder...
FYI... Not looking good for getting IM in a bowl anytime soon... Dear Sir, Thank you for your email and your interest in our products. We do not plan to produce a Sir Irisch Moos shaving soap in a bowl in the near future. But do you know our line Tabac Original? For this line, we do have the requested product. Please let us know from which country you are writing and we will check if it is available there. Best regards, Stefanie Heupel - International Sales -
I got mine and have had a couple of shaves. I LOVE Tabac, but the scent isn't my favorite (it IS growing on me slowly). The IM has the same fantastic properties as Tabac, but only with a different scent. To my nose, the scent is not strong at all. The lathered scent is less strong. It bring to mind cedar or pine. Not at all overwhelming. Quite pleasant. I'm really enjoying the stick form factor. I've applied it to the brush and superlathered it in a bowl (obviously) , and I've applied it right to my face and brush and face lathered. Both methods work excellently. I will enjoy this soap and hope it becomes more available in the US. Al else being equal, I'd take the IM over the Tabac for the scent, but if IM isn't easily available, the Tabac will first in my rotation. I may get some Tabac sticks for choice. Many thanks to Will for his efforts in procuring this on our behalf!
Question here... would the IM be likely found at the local chemists in say, Paris? My sister is making a trip there soon. Real soon.
Hard to find in Germany? I was just in Dortmund last week and I found it most every where. I tried the the cologne or AS (not sure which) and I didn't much care for the scent. I mean, it is OK but nothing great. However, it lasts forever. I sprayed once on the back of my hand and through many hand washings and a shower, I could still smell it. The drydown smells very familiar to the colognes my father and older brothers would wear. I almost grabbed a stick but I already have the Tabac stick with some refills from one of my last trips to Germany. I only use the stick when I travel so it lasts forever.
Oh, well, you can find the aftershave, deodorant, EDT and stuff pretty much everywhere. But the shaving cream and shaving soap are hard to find. You, my friend, have been lucky to find a few stores carrying the stuff
There marketing dept really needs to get their act together since they are losing sales left and right? Throw it in a bowl and they would sell the hell out of it? Do they even advertise?
They don't: http://sbinformation.about.com/b/2008/11/09/business-letter-takes-36-years-to-deliver.htm
Klaus, that is frickin' hilarious!! Of course, if WCS tries to beat that, I will be dead long before my IM gets here!!
We're not getting a lot of feedback here--thanks to those that did post. I know at least a dozen of us have tried it by now. Also once the cream ships from Superlather I wouldn't mind hearing about that as well. You could do it here or start a thread over in the S/C forum. Chop, chop boys! Inquiring minds and all that...
Mine is in a box with most my other shave gear for at least a month till I find a new pad, meanwhile I'm living off a single New, a few boxes 7 oclock yellows, and a box full of samples.
I found the shave stick too. I am not sure if they had the cream though. I may be going back in a few weeks. With all this talk about it,maybe I will pick up a stick after all.
