I reached out to Westcoast shaving asking them if the Rokwell parts that they are now selling are part of the "old" batch that the backers got and that caused a lot of concerns from a quality perspective - or part of the new, redesigned batch that is rumored to come out this year. Kim at Westcoast shaving relayed my question to Rockwell and she got back to me today with this quote from them: ""West Coast Shaving started carrying "Kickstarter Edition" parts, or, the "original parts". The "new ones" do not yet exist. These parts are not flawed, as they work very well as independent plates (the performance issues came from a warped top cap). "
One of the big nuts who is a Paid Vendor at one of the other "unnamed" sites was pimping this. All I could do was ask myself, "Really?"
For real? I'd expect a flawless to the tiniest detail at that price-point. I mean, for me spend almost 300 USD before I have an ATT here and then it may not be perfect.. expect one to go haywire
How about two out of three? They can simply be finicky with alignment. It isn't that you dont get used to putting the blades in a certain way, and it isn't that I don't love the razors and the shaves they give, it is simply my opinion: Considering the price tag, I find it a flaw that one has to take care to inspect and adjust blade alignment. I never complained about finicky blade alignment on my V1 Maggard. Course that razor was $12.95.
