After 24 shaves in a row with the F, I still find I have to watch the angle closely. More so than the less aggresive razors I have.
Yeah, I see them on ebay(a few). But expensive and bundled with razors. I`ll keep looking, wish me luck, and thanks. Bill
I'm a vintage G-man but have to admit that Schick hit a grand slam with this design. This one compares to the Red Tip. She's a knockout.
I just wanted to thank you for writing that as it reassured me about some similar feelings I had recently. In my case, it was about shaving with a pre-war Gillette Fat Handle Tech. I honestly had a great shave but just don't, for some visceral reason, like the razor. Can't fault the results, it's just not calling to to me. Interesting, though, that we had similar reactions to what were contemporary pre-war razors. It kind of makes me wonder what the evolution of shaving hardware would have looked like had WWII not occurred.
I will say this as I keep mine in rotation it is a mild but efficient shave. Typical for the injector razors. Probably milder than the previous versions and I can always count on it to deliver a quick and comfortable shave.
Great find. I'm sure it will clean up well. Like Redfisher, I too keep mine in rotation and for the same reasons he stated. Welcome to the small club of folks lucky enough to own one
Here's how she is after clean up. Some stubborn pitting but I ain't complaining. If it shaves at all that's a bonus. Postcript : Too good to be true, somebody screwed up the alignment, it won't secure a damn blade. Aaaargh. Pissed.
In the Repeaters it's possible to fix that by simply placing the head flat against a hard surface and pushing down to tighten the grip. Might be worth trying with your F.
Grrr - sorry to hear that. In my experience eBay will stand behind you if you put in a claim for a refund for a defect that was not disclosed. If you do it via eBay the return shipping costs are covered as well.
It might be worth contacting @twhite as he was able to repair a Schick type B razor for me that was missing the blade holder piece altogether.
Go ahead and get your money back. Typically these things are so tight that it is a challenge sometimes to load a blade without being careful. Your not going to be able to get it back to spec.
